i think it would be helpful

you could have 3 sections... GD Brilliant... GD Average... and GD Dummies

all threads could go through a sorting system... you could have someone in charge of looking at each new thread, and then allocating it to the appropriate sub forum (I'd be happy to sacrifice my time to take on this critical role)

an example of how this would work, is that good, solid threads pertaining to sports would go to the GD Average section... while threads such as "omg omg george clooney just farted" would take their rightful place in GD Dummies

initially, all members would nominate the sub forum they would like to be a part of... this would be decided on by a group of GD Brilliant members (otherwise know as 'the council of the Brilliant')

the selection of the council of the brilliant will be automatic, as it's obvious who should be there

i

members would only be allowed to visit other forums BELOW their forum, as well as their own... eg those from GD Brilliant can visit GD Average and GD Dummies... those from GD Average can visit GD Dummies... and those from GD Dummies... well... they just stay where they are

any applications to move up one sub forum would be looked at by 'the council of the brilliant'....posting history will be closely looked at to decide whether a promotion is appropriate... and gifts are always welcome


i think it would be cool... particluarly for the handful of us in the GD Brilliant forum

I don't know that I want to be on a council that Cloudbuster's on. I'll have to think about this, maybe start a second council, possibly raise an army. I'll get back to you.

Though please know that I am in agreement with the general principle that some among us need to be subjugated by superior members for the good of the org.

I like my chances. I'm still alive now, and have been all my life, so clearly my death evasion skills are quite handy.

it was remiss of me to not envision the possibility of great minds clashing... this should have been foreseen... obviously The Council Of The Brilliant will have to have a system to adjudicate on such matters... the way i see it there are two choices... a) a democratic process, or b) a dictatorship... if a dictatorship is the way to go, a supreme ruler will be chosen to hand down his ruling where members of The Council Of The Brilliant are not in agreement.... now while i would the logical choice for this position, i must decline due to the fact that... i... err... couldn't be bloody bothered

my oversight must not go unpunished though... for my failure to plan for clashes of brilliance, i sentence myself to be banished to GD Dummies for a term no less that one week, where i will be forced to swim in a sea of inane celebrity obsession and cat pictures
