I'm posing it as a larger question and NOT just in reference to that thread.

I understand that certain things belong in orgnotes, but these "Let's Ask" threads have been allowed and been around FOREVER--for the last 8 years that I've been in and out of the org.

They are simple "getting to know a specific" orger in a public forum and have always been allowed.

Why is just now being heavy handedly shut down?

I pose this question to all mods, and not just the one who locked it.

It was really a two way convo between two folks that could of used orgnotes.

There was no heavy handedness involved. Even someone posted about the use of orgnotes on the last page.

C'mon now, I'm a huge fan of this place but that thread was just wrong...

We post crap loads of stuff here, much of it silly and ridiculous, but that was just a banal conversation that none of us needed to see...

The same could have been said for dozens of things with banter between me and Fauxie or the Witches of orgwick.

The thread was an invitation for everybody to ask questions.

Thisone can't help it that he/she is so unpopular that nobody wanted to post.
