He obviously hates himself and/or is a masochist. Why else subject himself to being obsessed with a musician he hates so much.

Don't hate your neighbors. Hate the media that tells you to hate your neighbors.

You'r showing your colours.

Racist comment? eek

No.

And again, you are showing your true colours.

show your true colours | show your true colors

Meaning: You show your true colours if you show what you're really like, or you reveal your true character.

For example:

  • Bob always acts like he's a strong, brave guy, but when the hurricane hit he showed his true colors. He was too scared to go check on old Mrs Flowers, our next-door neighbour.

  • The players showed their true colours when they came back from three goals down to win the match.

Note: 1. "Show your true colours" is British spelling and "show your true colors" is American spelling. 2. Variations on this idiom include "see somebody in their true colours" and "show somebody in their true colours".

99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.

Yes, I think he is. I remember talking to some people before a North Sea Jazz gig who were also orgers (didn't ask 'em their usernames) and before we knew it, it was about Bart. One of them said, I think he's such a big fan that he takes everything Prince does, personally. That may or may not be true.
But hey, if Bart is a legend, then so is RDHull! lol

Like him or not, he never lies or makes things up and backs his claims with hard facts and he definitely knows his subject matter. He´s the yang to some of the yin that´s going on around here, he´s the other side of the coin. I have yet to see a post by Bart where he bullshits.

I don´t believe in "legends" in a fan community, in the end they´re all just fans but, compared to some of those arrogant assholes who think they´re "in the know", he´s comparatively nice (well, not exactly "nice" nice, but nicer than those other idiots).

Just like Ernest Sewell back in the day, Bart brings some much needed criticism to the table. Prince would be well advised to listen to people like Bart (or Alan Leeds lol ) every now and then.

Bart brings absolutely NO needed criticism to the table. Prince does not sit at this table.

If Bart truly cared about correcting all Prince's mistakes, Bart would go to work for Prince.

I have a new screen name after being off the Org for about a year, but I've actually been around since the PPML days. I can count on one hand the number of Orgers that have been around that long that I respect and have made thoughtful and intelligent posts throughout the years, be it negative or not, and Bart is one of them. I don't know who he is, nor know anyone who has actually met him, but he seems pretty smart to me. Prince has done a lot for people to have a negative opinion about.

I remember people back in 1998-1999 everyone was complaining about him on the AMP. Everything he posted was negative and everyone wondered why he was still a fan. And now, 14 years later, he still lurks. Amazing! My hat goes off to the guy. He's truthfully the only name that would probably pop into my head if someone asked who's the biggest name in the online fan communities.

He always made me laugh. I have always been fascinated by people who complain and complain about something, but never leave it. back in the AMP days I would read him just to try and figure him out. The fact that he's still doing it is a tad frightening. I don't think I'd like to know someone like him IRL.

He was never a Prince fan. Even Robert Christgau likes more Prince albums that Bart. He's been a troll for years. Is mad at Prince for not signing his little brothers poster or some such.

The sucka does hold a grudge, I will give him that.

That's right.

I kinda feel the same as Kooleaze on him. I'm not in P:M&M a lot because I find Prince's music lately not for me, but I often tend to agree with what I've seen him write.

This is NOT true. Do you really believe this or are you just making it up? He used to have a Prince fansite up until those horrible 1998-1999 years when Prince decided to attack his own fans and promise big things and did not deliver (Crystal Ball fiasco). And that was not the first and not the last time Prince disrespected his fans.

If I were Bart I´d be pissed, too. Especially after reading some of the comments on this thread.

Some of Prince´s biggest critics here have nothing but the best intentions and ideas. wink
