I agree orgnotes should be private.

Afterall, it would be quite embarrassing if I posted Battier's love letters to me! lol

Please, post them, and then everyone can see the great love I have for you. love

I will post the ones you returned, too. smile Less than a year and I'll be 18, and by god, we can carry out our plans for love!

You mean the ones where I said you need to be 18 before we begin this love affair??? I've kept it clean.

Yes, and I respect you immensely for keeping it clean, even with all of my sexual innuendo and Kama Sutra talk. confused

All I did was suggest that, while we are having our "love" session, we bring IceNine in, so that you can bend him over, stick your finger in his ass, and wipe shit on his upper lip. I suggested you Sanchez him.

You were down with it then. rolleyes Your needs and wants are changing. I just don't know if you're the same person I used to want to be with. neutral

Listen, sweetheart, if you're not mature enough to handle a little bondage and intercourse, then umm, well, maybe I should just find someone who is. evil

I'm cool with it...just not with IceNine's hairy ass & back. Plus, he'll be talking about boxing or something and just totally ruin the moment.

Oh. Well, I suppose talking about some sweaty man beating another sweaty man could...ruin the moment. Unless one of the men is Oscar de la Hoya. jerkoff

Anyways, yeah. I see where you're coming from!

That isn't something to be controlled with rules, it's something to be controlled with common human decency. Don't send anything private in nature to somebody you don't trust.

I think the best way to summarize it is "it's frowned upon, except in cases of extreme comedic value". If you do it, it better be funny dammit biggrin

oh, it's nothing passe like sex. it's really ugly flaming over moderation issues.

in fact, on second thought, maybe there SHOULD be a thread, comprised solely of the run-ins ian and i have. it would make for great reading, watching to viscious bastads launch assaults on each other, only to both completely wuss out, shake hands, hug, and get over themselves and each other at the end of the day.

biggrin ian?

I believe there maybe an exception in some cases
eg: If someone is stalking someone and is very abusive then for evidence and to protect the injured party, but only when the individual that is having the problems gives permission.

That's what "blocking" is for...

Posting org notes and private messages should not be allowed without the sender's permission. That's just assholeishness no no no! A private flame war is better than a public one...drama is for drama queens!

That's an interesting point, especially when people are continually told to take it to email or Orgnotes. When you do that, I think you are basically saying "this isn't something that should be public." So why allow these private exchanges to become public? Why should it concern "the Org"?

Orgnotes are a substitute for emails. To the best of my knowledge, this feature was introduced to allow easily accessible private messaging for people to socialize one on one. If it has the effect of creating private behavior that must then be arbitrated by moderators, that is very unfortunate and, in my view, unnecessary. I'm pretty sure the mods get sent Otgers' emails that are deemed offensive, but it must be very tiring to get involved in all this private stuff.

The focus should be on public behavior. The responsibility of this unpaid staff should be limited to what goes on in public, and people who are bothered by Orgnotes should be told to not take their private feuds to the forums and to use their blocking feature as a courtesy to the moderator, just so he/she does not have to read whatever Orgnotes or emails are sent.

I agree Aero. we mods have neither the time nor the desire to arbitrate private arguments and squabbles. As far as I am concerned, private Orgnotes are none of my business and usually (except in extreme circumstances, where someone is being genuinely harrassed, threatened and persecuted perhaps) I never get involved in such private matters.

Although posting private Orgnotes isn't in the rules, it is as I say "frowned upon" and there have been very few cases where such posts went unsnipped biggrin

Unless it's funny, and it was posted by me to get a cheap laugh. Then, it's brilliantly witty.

I disagree, if you send someone something I think you relinquish ownership. It's up to the recipient to decide if it remains private or not. If you want the content to remain private, either don't send it or trust that the recipient wont make it public.

The posting of orgnotes should simply follow standard site rules.
