Maybe it's time for a new Prince site to start up....

On one side you have the heads who can't admit when a song like "Purple & Gold" is truly horrific trash....

And on the other you have "fans" negatively obsessing over every move the man makes as if he fucked their mother or something...

I remember making a post about how this place was becoming a FAMMY vs. Bitching civil war with no room for the moderate Prince fans to just come and chill and talk/debate about the music instead of going back and forth about baby videos and such....

Well, the Org has finally gone to hell at this point...

Fortunately, the friendships I have made here keeps me coming back...And that's a beautiful thing...

But as is....It's scarier than a motherfucker here....

Sometimes it feels like a bitchfight here with others not respecting others or even displying a reasonable and supportive appreciation of Prince. Many times it feels like beatdeadhorse so I took a timeout from this site for a while. There did not seem to be a reasonable middle ground without all the angry ranting so often seen here....Prince is an exceptional artist who helped to change a genre and he captures a style of expression equal to none. He promotes a flow of sensual, thought-provoking, memory stimulating, exciting, creative and just fun ways to embrace life in a out of the box stimilating format by the way of his own unique musical and lyrical colaborations. He's just a creative genius who is subject exceptional highs, near misses and less than spectacular presentations at rare occations. He is also a keen social observer of life and his observations are threaded through out his music. He also is growing with life, as we all have, who have been gifted to enjoy his talents, gifts, skills and energies since the late 80's & 90's. or anyone one who has enjoyed his gifts along the way. Old school is no better than new school. It is all good. It is room for everybody...this is not an exclusive membership. He's the man...Iconic..gifted...never will their be another person like him...but he is subject to mistakes, like all humans. But all this negative energy...Are all the people here real fans? I don't think so...he is held to an impossible standard that no one could live up to consistentily. sun

This thread raises a good Q:

Many of us who don't want to marry Prince or think they know him as a person but who greatly appreciate his music (current as well as older) don't post much because it's not worth the hassle. I tell you, lots of infrequent posters are level-headed sensible people who are frustrated by some of the "debate" here and only come back for news

They go here, Murph. Most of the time, if it's a topic I really want to discuss, I just jump over posts that are extreme on either side.

Just continue to start threads like your last one. If either side takes it off-course, report them or ignore them.

This is probably the best advice. You don't have to acknowledge every post since your last one. Not every comment, even those directed at you deserves a response.

Generally i say what i want to say first time out, then move the fuck on. Not bothered about fams responses cause i post MY truth first time out. Don't agree? fine with me crybabies.

That being said, there are regulars and oldies who i don't like upsetting cause i genuinely value their opinions and knowledge, but we should be all fine to disagree at times without resorting to sillyness.

This is great. I'm glad someone's finally taking a stand about this serious issue and setting up a site where reasonable, moderate Prince fans can congregate and discuss through a, fittingly, 1999 Geo-Citiesesque layout, the finer nuances of Prince's work.

Bumping this for Murph. I think we found a safe place for you, my friend.
