It's not even the org's fault, but this place became significantly less fun when NPGMC closed.

I was around for the exodus, but I was still something of a newbie then and it really did not effect me all that much.
it got even less fun when Housequake closed.

Ahhhh yes...that too nod

Basically, every time some other Prince related site goes down, the suck level around here goes up.

Will didn't like the attitude of the original Aunt Viv anymore. And the producers did exactly what they wanted to do to keep the star (Will) of the show happy.

The whole "jumped the shark" thing is ridiculous. Meaning, when Happy Days turned the Fonz into a joke, by him on skis in a leather jacket jumping over some caged sharks, meant that it marked the moment that the show officially went stupid and irrelevant.

We haven't reached that moment here yet. Orgers make the org what it is. We've outlasted three "official" Prince sites and many unofficial sites. We've gone through post happy orgers who were splashes in the pan, and moderators who made a difference.

We've been around since the late nineties and it's now 2010.

Prince has commented on this site. National and world-wide magazines have quoted us or referred to us in written form. Prince has worked with us, granting us tickets to his shows and private parties.

We are very much alive and well, and the world is aware of our written contributions regarding Prince, and so many other topics.

There's no shark cage even remotely near us to jump.

'nuff said.

Without hijacking Cborgman's thread concerning the "good ole days", I figured a new thread like THIS is needed so all of the long time orgers can nicely explain to me what year and/or what moment did the org started to "jumped the sharks".

IMHO, I think the org "jumped the sharks" when some people resigned their membership because of nearly all of the controversies within P&R.

Or maybe it "jumped the sharks" after Prince entering the R&R Hall Of Fame and I never notice it. Who knows!
lol

If you insist on using a cliché expression, at least make sure you use the correct version. Hint: The Fonz only jumped ONE shark.

I know. But "sharks" is a bigger sell within a catchphrase than "shark". wink

I have only been here for bout 6 years, but the only time I really noticed a big shift was when Princy started to try and have everything of his removed, images and shit.

Things just seemed different after then.
