[Edited 5/15/09 12:41pm] I agree. But she suffers from angry bitter pruince fan-itus. I love that about her though For Marvyn I will try. I never take her seriously, as she spends too much time ranting about an artist who she admires. I think she just misses the Prince of the 80s. I've told her one thousand times to just go into her vinyl album collection and cds, put them on and she can be taken back to that era anytime.... (Hatrina is going to surely throw a shoe at me any minute now... ) [Edited 5/15/09 12:51pm]

Posting a pic of someone who is alive in a coffin, not cool at all. I mean, there's humor and then there's going way too far with it. [Edited 5/15/09 13:08pm]

2elijah said: The point is Supa, if the sites shut down tomorrow, he will survive careerwise, and I'm sure find other ways to get info out about his performances. He's an international artist, and I doubt, if some of these sites shut down tomorrow if it would affect his career to the point it would be destroyed. As a Prince fan yourself, since when have you ever known Prince to let anyone hold him back with his career? Even when some fans continuously try to knock him down, he just bounces right back. That's what you call perseverance dude. [Edited 5/15/09 11:44am]

2elijah said: HatrinaHaterwitz said: They really crack me up with this silly shit. They're sitting HERE talking shit about how these sites aren't beneficial to Prince...yet Prince has a website that most of them paid 77.00 to be part of but if they want to discuss Prince, his music or anything Prince related, they have to come the very sites, they have the fucked up audacity to be trying to dismiss as not relevant to Prince's business interests! [Edited 5/15/09 12:18pm] Hatrina, no one is saying that the "fans" on these sites are not relevant, of course many of them are who appreciates his art, even the ones who constructively criticize him, but if these sites were to be gone tomorrow, you mean to tell me you really think Prince's career would fail? What about when there were no fan sites? Internet? Also, look where the info about any upcoming performances are coming from? It doesn't seem to be going directly to the mods at the Org or the other unofficial fan sites, but dr.fb's site instead, and then info gets posted here by fans who happen to catch it on dr.fb's site. Lately, that seems like how most here are getting access to any upcoming info. because dr.fb's site is a free site and can be easily accessed. I still don't see why he wouldn't survive with his career, when there's all kinds of ways to get info out about any upcoming performances/appearances. Okay, so there's no forums to discuss his music and other convos on the lotus site but even if there were, some fans would just criticize the forums, for the way it's moderated and call those fans who participate on it "asskissers" so basically, according to some fan critics...you're either a koolaid-drinker or a hater. [Edited 5/15/09 12:44pm] I don't think I said if these sites shut down now, his career would be over, did I? No I didn't because I don't think that. What I do think however, is that had there not been sites like this and (to answer your question of what did we do before the internet) the fan clubs that existed, his career would not have lasted 30 years because when the mainstream didn't give a damn about Prince and just thought he was a loon for changing his name and walking around with slave on his face. It was the fan clubs...which led the way for fan sites...that took it upon themselves to handle the thankless job of keeping Prince's name out there for those of us that did gave a damn about him enough to seek out what ever little information, we could find about things such as his little Hit & Run shows during the late 90's, in those obscure ass locations, that were barely, if at all, promoted. So don't tell me that these sites and clubs and the people that frequent them haven't benefited Prince because he and I both know damn well they have! All is good. Now I'll just leave that alone and get the thread back on topic before the author of this thread comes after us! [Edited 5/15/09 13:59pm]

I wasn't a member of any Prince site, official or unofficial, and neither were the friends I knew that attended the Musicology tour happened, and the information was out there and advertised everywhere. When the tickets went on sale March 2004 in NYC for MSG,the first night sold out in less than 10 minutes, and that is when tktmaster opened up tkts for sale for 2 more days, a half-hour later. So I don't understand why some folks feel without these sites it will be the end all for Prince. Life goes on. [Edited 5/15/09 11:01am] Exactly. Let's go further back in time, shall we? What the hell were we doing in 1991 when no one was even thinking about an internet? No p.org, HQ or any one of the number of Prince sites to go too. It comes down to this, we would survive if this place went under and Prince will still sell out arenas if there are no more sites on him. Not saying I want that to happen cause I don't but he'll be alright either way. calling up the prince family hotline and reading controversy magazines in '91 oh and uptown magazine of course man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81
