The point is Supa, if the sites shut down tomorrow, he will survive careerwise, and I'm sure find other ways to get info out about his performances. He's an international artist, and I doubt, if some of these sites shut down tomorrow if it would affect his career to the point it would be destroyed. As a Prince fan yourself, since when have you ever known Prince to let anyone hold him back with his career? Even when some fans continuously try to knock him down, he just bounces right back. That's what you call perseverance dude.

Also, look where the info about any upcoming performances are coming from? It doesn't seem to be going directly to the mods at the Org or the other unofficial fan sites, but dr.fb's site instead, and then info gets posted here by fans who happen to catch it on dr.fb's site. Lately, that seems like how most here are getting access to any upcoming info. because dr.fb's site is a free site and can be easily accessed.

I still don't see why he wouldn't survive with his career, when there's all kinds of ways to get info out about any upcoming performances/appearances. Okay, so there's no forums to discuss his music and other convos on the lotus site but even if there were, some fans would just criticize the forums, for the way it's moderated and call those fans who participate on it "asskissers" so basically, according to some fan critics...you're either a koolaid-drinker or a hater.

What I do think however, is that had there not been sites like this and (to answer your question of what did we do before the internet) the fan clubs that existed, his career would not have lasted 30 years because when the mainstream didn't give a damn about Prince and just thought he was a loon for changing his name and walking around with slave on his face.

It was the fan clubs...which led the way for fan sites...that took it upon themselves to handle the thankless job of keeping Prince's name out there for those of us that did gave a damn about him enough to seek out what ever little information, we could find about things such as his little Hit & Run shows during the late 90's, in those obscure ass locations, that were barely, if at all, promoted.

So don't tell me that these sites and clubs and the people that frequent them haven't benefited Prince because he and I both know damn well they have!
