Sorry Miss, U're wrong: I edited NOTHING of the content in my post - maybe a typo, o.k. but not the content: the post time was 2:59 and the edit time was 3:00 Page 3 Buying used copies is perfectly ok, then you aren't directly lining his evil pockets. But if you can't honestly say that you haven't gotten more enjoyment out of his music than the money you've put in, then I feel sorry for you. To be able to listen to SOTT and STILL be amazed by it, is certainly worth more than the $20 I paid so long ago.
Thank You that you give me mercy for buying records secondhand. And to make a final comment: Indeed, i DON'T enjoy Prince's output from the last 10 years - and that little money what i've paid for is already too much (Planet Earth/ONA Piano & Life/ TRC/N.E.W.S.): his genius is gone/burned out/finish (this is MY personal opinion - i hope this is still allowed). I listen his new music, but after one-two days i have enough. I prefer to listen his music from the good old golden times (btw. for that i paid lots of money with pleasure) and i won't miss it - maybe i'm already to old (40) and unflexible for his games. With 'games' i mean that he KNOWS exactly what we all like to see released, remember the Crystal Ball II poll @ Paisley Park, but he store it in the vault, talk about it and finally he releases boring crap like Planet Earth... Before you say something about 'crap': compare his chart positions (duration and position) from before and after 1992. Another point (my last one) is, that he can't reach the high level he marked 20 years ago anymore. Just because we (all) expect a masterpiece like SOTT. And if it's just a little bit under the (extreme high) expectations we are disapointed and say things like i did before (burned out, not a genius anymore...) PS: There's a THIN line between love & hate - in the moment (O.K. it's already a long moment) i'm not on the love side and he don't give me a tiny outlook to come back. | |

can you imagine, keeping this kind of dictatorship in the back of your mind, if LotusFlow3r has a message board like this, how absolutely crap it would be....there was very little freedom of speech at NPGMC, and I think Prince is even more paranoid nowdays... the other thing to keep in mind, if he does this now to HQ, don't believe for a second that he won't do the same here at the org... Prince didn't close HQ down, no, but because of the control-freak-bullying tendencies towards his fan-base over the years he's worn down more than just aaron.... we must understand that to Prince, it seems, a fan is a bad thing...how does that make you, a fan, feel? (not a fanatic BTW) Sure I'll still get the albums - hell maybe I will pay for them, after all he didn't tell HQ to close in so many words....but I won't close my eyes like some here and pretend Prince isn't what he is....a bully...."Do as I say, not as I do' .... moderatorif I was Aaron I would have simply ignored any threats. I honestly believe Prince would not sue. He may have a long time ago, but he has yet to officially sue anyone and it would look real bad on his part like it did with the PFU thing.
And where do you think the money will come from to obtain good legal counsel? | |
