Yup! Absolutely right! This particular obsessive is the MOST prolific one on the org. Completely off her trolley. I'm sure her heart's in the right place though.

This section could be cleaned up by simply separating the "music" from the "more", which I've suggested before.

That way, we wouldn't have 2 sort through the "Prince's Next Wife" threads 2 get 2 musical/lyrical content.

Just make the "more" section a non-musical, but Prince-related thing!

Just my thoughts.

hmmm that's a good idea

I agree 100% I go onto P:M&M to discuss and read about his music and lyrics not whether his kissing is over the top or if he has a cute ass!!! Seperate the music from the tabloid gossip and it may stop some of the inane threads.

I agree. I joined this forum shortly after seeing prince in concert for the first time at the 02, I wanted to find out more about his music, and it was nice to discuss it with people who were just as enthuastic as me. that's what I love about the org, that said I think a lot of the threads on here are out of order and very disrespectful towards Prince especially the ones that discuss his personal life, like making nasty comments about his ex wives and any woman he is photographed with, also SOME people have a tendancy to call Prince names when they are pissed off about something, usually something like Purple midget, dwarf etc, I find that intolarable, theres no need for that. Maybe he looks in here sometimes you never know, and if he sees that sort of thing it must hurt regardless of his age , I don't think anyone is that thick skinned, I certainly find it offensive when I read it. I think these sort threads should get locked right away they get way out of hand too often. I just want to talk about how talented he is and his great music.

To separate the music from the gossip and what have you would be a real good and smart thing I think!

No! I just joined this site after years at housequake and I been hit with org notes by nut job fans cause I said I like Bria Valente's music? They were straight up talking to me like im Bria and said "u are a racist, look over your shoulder, Prince has already found someone else".nutso About to give this girl a piece of my mind and set em straight and they deleted their account! Whats wrong with this place!!! eyepop Prince has girlfriend issues they hate Bria big time and they all better get up off me! How are they gonna delete their account after sending me that. rolleyes Twilight zone

Bloody hell! I'm sorry you've had this experience on the org - we're not all like that.. honest!

I knew that there were some 'bonkers' people on here but I had no idea that it was this bad! Though I have a feeling that I know who this was and if its the same person they were trolling it up in the lotusflow3r discussion board and I had a field day reporting that crazy bitch. So I think that it's more likely that this person had their account deleted for them. My advice for the crazies? trolls

Anyway - Welcome to the org hug I agree with JoyJoy (as usual!) and say that the new influx of Quakers has really revived the PM&M boards.

Thank for the welcome love, I come here to chat with girls like you who know whats up! We gonna put this back in the hands of real fans, not the other kind. hug

I don't like the swear words myself. To me thats worse than someone going off on tangent. That to me makes this site look bad. I mean it's not necessary (call me old fashion).

I think the biggest problem with sites like this and others (housequake) is the moderators do not have a set of rules to follow in determining what is acceptable and what is not. Thus the reason for this thread.

Have you ever heard the saying. You get what you paid for? Well all the moderators here work for free. I believe none have any formal education in moderation or mediation (please correct me if I am wrong). It's just a title assiged to them by the owner of the site who is happy someone will take over what is otherwise a job no one wants. Equivilant to a parking ticket cop. But I feel there is a moral ehtical part to this job. I also feel if someone here objects to a way the situation was handle, they can take their issue to all the moderators. Who will agree or disagree if a procedure was handle corectly by a moderator. Also a pulbic posting of what occured, and the action taken.

Yes, this is not really a public forum and there are rules. But the owners of this site I do believe have a responsiblity for respecting freedom of speech.

Perhps the question here is our the rules we currently have in place sufficent for a moderator to do there job? Are more rules needed?

Perhaps an area citing example of abuse.

Perhaps corrective action should be:

First three of the same incidents: warnings and removal of posts.
4th banned for one day
5th banned for one week
6th banned for one month
7th banned for one year.

A member should never be banned for life (when posible). Everyone deserves a chance. If someone should be banned for life it should be a decision done by many people, not just some modertator whose opinion differs from their own (is Caeto from HQ reading this?)

At HQ the decision to ban someone was made by the whole mod team. We always discussed it in the mod forum. And your other suggestions we also used on HQ: warning points etc razz

removal of posts.

There will always be people who see that as an attack on freedom of speech. So still no good moderation to them.

nod Eaxctly, I know I have been agreeing with you on this before. It would be neat if it would actually happen. I really don't mind the "more" threads, but it would certainly make it easier if you have them in one place so when you go to this site to check news and information you don't have go through one wacko-thread-with-a-misleading-title after the other. Besides, the "more" threads aren't what they used to be either, this place just isn't what it once was. sad
Having said that, I can't help but be annoyed by those who put GD on such a pedistal...

The only problem I see with Giovanni777's great idea is that the PrinceLoons have been known to muck up threads devoted to serious discussions of Prince lyrics, musical devices and visual techniques. If they could be trusted to limit their nonsense to "next wife" threads, I'd be all for it. As it is now, they don't.

And that right there is the snake biting its tail - they can't be trusted cause they're loons. confused
I agree with you both though, even I might venture in there but I know I'll want to kill the dumbass bitches and will probably get banned for it so I don't. shrug
