Rather Prince getting his way or not, he is in the entertainment industry! There is criticism EVERYWHERE! And he hasnt picked on any of the celebs that mock Prince on SNL! nope. not kidding. and yes, talks are still ongoing and all are hopeful for a resolution. remember it took time just to get to the table to talk...it will take even more those talks to occur between three different websites and prince. nothing happens overnight

His official websites haven't been:
1. Consistant
2. Burning trends, in much of anything
3. Advertise Prince videos, older music etc
4. Encourage interest in Prince, except for the diehards, or dialogue about Prince

There are so many talented artists in the music industry.
Who's isolated themself more? Prince? or members here? It's a big wide world.


I'm putting forth a bigger effort to listen to other talent, which I don't normally do. It usually takes me months, to a year, to keep up with the newest music from the competition.

Money is the reason. Bills have to be paid. Maybe he had to borrow from his 401K to settle a debt and he's pulling on his resources to put the money back. Who knows? All the legal mumbo jumbo is just a block. Think. Why in God's name would he get so twisted over the fans that actually put him in the lime light and made his name so big? I'm callin' him out. What's the deal Prince? What IS the real deal? Tell us. If we love ya we'll all help ya through your troubled time. Right guys?

pictures and music are two separate categories. you can't lump them together. we are talking about pictures, not music.

second, he cannot request to be paid for photos he doesn't own copyright to.

third, he is not entitled to payment for pictures that are considered "fair use".

fourth, i simply stated that prince has not made demand on any PFU member for payment of pictures.

the end. this is not about getting paid for his pictures displayed on the websites. this is about determining which pictuers are and are not displayed. it is about image control, not "picture" control. image and photograph are also two separate categories.

you have the category of "music"
you have the category of "photographs"
you have the category of "image"

all of which are separate from the other.

this entire ordeal makes me want to vomit

Alright now! This drama has been going on for almost a month now and the only things I've seen is Prince getting his way.

First, it was the mistakenly released press release that made the fansites appear to be just like the Pirate Bay and was never publicly retracted.

Second, was the song PFUnk, a very non-professional response from Prince himself that basically told the fans that don't like what's going down to get bent!

Third, there was the removal of the PFU messages and the emblem of unity and solidarity which was replaced with the bold insertion of Prince's thumb ...print.

Fourth, was the added insult of taking the song that disses the fans that don't like what's going down, renaming it to F.U.N.K. and then selling it on iTunes.

What kind of freaking "talks" are these? The sites are obliging in the spirit, I get that. What I want to know is...what is Prince bringing to the table except demands? If he's not offering any exclusive rights that would make these sites better than they already are...video forums or concert podcasts or something like that, what good are these "talks"?

I think another problem is the total void in information from the site owners

It just encourages people to speculate wildly about what is going on

Would it be possible to get an update?

Whilst the concern is appreciated, there are legitimate legal reasons as to why there's not a great deal of detail at the moment.

The fact is, things are being worked on behind the scenes to resolve things for the long term once and for all.

Please bear with us and feel free to post any particular questions and the PFU team will do their best to answer with the current mutual restrictions.

Too bad he didn't use the opportunity to improve his image, over it all.
