How about if they charged a membership fee ~ since it does cost a lot to keep this site up every month I am sure~ Would u pay it?

I'd survive if the joint closed but I'd go along with a pay site.

It might spur some needed improvements along...

A more stable system
A working "search" function

...as examples.

Since cash hasn't been asked for to date, it makes me wonder if the lack of funds would be the real reason for a closure.
I'm thinking that the owner's time might be more of an issue than money.

I would be saddenned

1) I've made friends on the org. Real friends.

2) I get real "alternative" perspectives offering differing viewpoints to npgmc on Prince news, music, etc. NPGMC always felt like I was listening to the Fox News version of Prince news. shrug

3) Other than my "Beer Enema" thread and an occasional Ass eating thread, my threads are allowed to be posted here. NPMC wouldn't tolerate them. And I've had far less offensive stuff snipped on housequake and other Prince sites.

4) There's something very special about the group of peeps that hang out in the GD forum (I like some of the other forums too). Friendships are formed, genuinely genius posts of such hilarity are posted, that I often spend hours laughing so hard my sides hurt.

5) 75% of the moderators on this site want to sleep with me. (you know exactly who you are).

6) If Ben decides to retire Prince.org, and one day he *will*, I hope he gives us ample notice so we can make arrangements. A few of us are technically savvy enough to setup SOMETHING in it's place.

7) The org ultimately , to me, has become bigger than Prince. It's a community of friends in some cases, a forum for true political discourse and learning, and a place to express oneself artistically. It truly is special. I spend more time on Prince.org than I do surfing porn, on news sites, on blogs, on myspace, and shopping on ebay or amazon combined.

lol and clapping

I couldn't agree with you more. I'd be sad, big time. nod
