aaron's profile is still there...it was my understanding that profiles are not searchable once an account is deleted...

is this just more oliver stone rhetoric?

My apologies. I misspoke. Aaron's account wasn't deleted. He told me that it was deactivated.

He's my roommate, if you're wondering how I know this.

In the interest of rumor control, I'll state that Aaron's account has been disabled, but not deleted. That's why his profile is still available.
Please note: effective March 21, 2010, I've stepped down from my prince.org Moderator position.

So what exactly does that mean Matt? Did he do something wrong? I hope he's able to still be a part of this site because he's one of the most honest, humorous and real people here. Please explain what happened. Thanks.

Aaron's sitting right next to me and wants to know what the point of disabling and not deleting it is. Does this mean that it will be re-enabled some time? Or is it finished? If there's no chance of him coming back, why not just delete it?

He thanks the rest of you for your kind words.

Aaron has repeatedly violated our rules, including our prohibition on flaming. In both public forum posts and private orgNotes to the moderators, he has indicated that he is unwilling to comply with the rules. His behavior has created a lot of work for us moderators, and it's harming the "quality of life" for everyone at the .org.

I'm puzzled by Aaron, because there are times when he seems like a reasonable, intelligent person. I've even met him briefly in real life, and I thought he was a nice guy. But unfortunately, the Dr. Jeckyl side of him keeps going away, and we have to deal with Mr. Hyde instead. sad

That's up to Ben. All decisions to restrict, disable, or delete a user's account go through Ben. He specifically instructed me to disable the account (as opposed to deleting it).

I reiterate something that Aaron mentioned on another thread:

Is he actually creating more work for you? Or is it your obssession with him and Nep2nes constant reports to moderators that create more work for you?

How long before Nep2nes' account is deactivated? (That's Aaron's question. He says that you've said that you like her. Is she getting preferential treatment? What has Aaron done that she hasn't?)

Another question from Aaron then. Since Ben doesn't answer his org email and Aaron can't send orgnotes, how is he supposed to take up the issue with him?

easy turbo...instead of looking outward here, hopefully aaron will look at the positive:

1) less time on prince.org=for quality time with his new boyfriend

2)less time on prince.org= less annoyances from matt and ian

3) less time on prince.org= more time for beers and queers

(self edited...its really non of my business).....

Aaron might be a lovely chap in real life. In fact he probably is. However on this site, recently he has been a royal pain in the arse. He has had far more warnings than anyone else, and more second chances than anyone else. He constantly and deliberately went out of his way to make life difficult for the moderators of this site, and create work for us out of pure bloody-mindedness.

In the last few weeks he has done nothing but flame people and have a go at people. He'd spend hours every day trying his hardest to make enemies of the people who run this site.
All he has contributed to the site of late has been to make it more unpleasant for certain people who he bullied every day, and to make it more difficult for the people running this site to give their attention to other matters.

Nothing personal - it's just the wrong site for him I think. He clearly doesn't like the restrictions here, and the way the site is run, so he is free now to find a site that better suits his posting style.

So, in this paragraph you've broken two rules. First, you've insulted Aaron (royal pain in the arse). Second, you've shared info that breaks the agreement about the privacy of an org member

In the last few weeks he has done nothing but flame people and have a go at people. He'd spend hours every day trying his hardest to make enemies of the people who run this site.

that was already done prior to the last two weeks. Aaron has done nothing to try to make an enemy out of you or ben. matt is another matter entirely. it is Aaron's opinion that matt is a sniveling narc with low self esteem that gets his jollies and his frustrations about being ineffectual in life out by obssessively following Aaron around this site looking for something to lock/delete/edit.

(don't deactivate my account! he made me say it!)

All he has contributed to the site of late has been to make it more unpleasant for certain people who he bullied every day, and to make it more difficult for the people running this site to give their attention to other matters.

other matters... such as?

he says that the more you guys moderated him, the more likely he was to do things that needed to be moderated. that you only created more work for yourselves by going after nit-picky things. if you hadn't done that, if you'd just leave him alone for minor transgressions, there wouldn't be major transgressions. Aaron had reached some sort of equilibrium with Ian. Is this not true? until matt started shoving his overly-sensitive nose into every post or thread of Aaron's.

Nothing personal - it's just the wrong site for him I think. He clearly doesn't like the restrictions here, and the way the site is run, so he is free now to find a site that better suits his posting style.

considering he's been here a considerable amount of time longer than almost anyone but ben and val, that's a curious statement.

As an outside observer, I would say that I have noticed Aaron's behavior being rather out of control. He's been nice enough towards me, so I have nothing personal to gain by stating my opinion. Maybe Aaron should stop comparing his plight or account status to those of others (namely Nep2nes) and start worrying about his own behavior.

you know what..im trying to help the kiddo laugh...that post was a joke...but, i guess you nor he can see the humor in things...

which, is probably why the flame wars get out of hand and the org gods have had to "pause" his account...

its only a website...enjoy reality, come back and enjoy the site once the account is reactivated...just do it in a more positive way...

uh huh. so you suggest, as you always do, that this thread should be moved to the site discussion forum? why? it wasn't intended to be about site discussion. until it was hijacked into yet another conversation about how matt chooses to moderate. it was simply a goodbye to Aaron.
