This forum is for discussing the prince.org site itself... my main areas of interest for topics of discussion are:

- suggestions for improvements you'd like to see
- reports of bugs/things not working properly
- additions/corrections to content

in general, simple things should probably be addressed directly to us via the 'contact us' form (link at the bottom of every page), but anything you'd like to start some debate on, or request help, or get others to comment on as well, feel free to post up.

First the thank you's:

Now my small suggestions for a the news section and other little things:

I think that the news sections, latest news and older news, would be even better if you separated the news pages by DATE. That would be great. And possibly making the date large and bold. Just something to give the user an idea of where they're at in the timeline of news.So perhaps then, each older news page would also be by date, rather than having to dates run into each other in one page.

Also, I think that at the actual news pages, making the news items titles pop out more either visually (like the burple pars with white text in the "Links to other sites" page) or with some kind of separator so the user can visually jump to the next news item.

I kind of feel confused from the "visit link" and/or "Links" and the emails, anything clickable after the news item, you know at the end of each news item. Perhaps making the news items like the discussion forums, one news item WHITE, the next GREY! Yeah!


Another suggestion: the left navigation sections, "Stories on this page" are great. Wonderful being able to see an overview of each news item, either new or searched. But it would look more like a navigation-like box if it would also pop out a little more. maybe a box with Stories on this page as the title.


Anyway, I'm loving Prince.org v2.0! The colors and the logo, beautiful! And the message/respone formatting codes are fantastic! The left column upcoming events is killer! Can't wait to see the TV appearances there as well!

The discussion forums are hot, great redesign!

Can't wait to figure out how to upload my own avatars! I'm all up for donations via PayPal or whatever too!

I hope these suggestions don't add too much work.

Still figuring things out - about the old threads we had going: we can see the headers but none of the old comments? Am I right? This is gonna take some getting used to, I had some debates going! No worries, I'm digging what I see...

just wondering, is it still possible 2 change your user name? i might get bored with random duck 8) and fancy a change.

I think the new site is really great, better than I imagined.

Still getting used to it, but some suggestions I have now in mind.
- Searching users by profile info, and a list with all users maybe...
- I'd like the quotes in the home page being voted and selected by users, but that would be very complicated. And I guess you, Ben, like to make the selection yourself.
- Not that important but in the profile the sex can be none/male/female/not sure, and what about the others (le grind).

And a question, where are the codes for symbols other than emoticons?

All this other stuff is great, woohoo. But the appeal of the org for me, and many others, is that it was easy to access the news. No bull, no clutter, just the news, with clear headlines and a link to a story.

So, it would be nice if there was a "news" page like before. Sure, separate the new and old, put links along a bar at the top for Current, Old, Events, whatever. But the problem now is that you can't collapse down the preview of the current news items -- so there's no concise list of news links -- and there's a lot of scrolling involved becuase the left side of the homepage is so cluttered with different sections. You can't just easily read the news anymore.

Also, YES, import the comment threads from the old news items -- there's as much news in them as there is in the stories themselves.

And, I usually search by news item poster or commenter, not the info itself. So the username field should also be an option to be included in the query as well.

Ditto what ShabasLove says. Maybe I gotta play with it some more, but in the first 30 mins here, I'm still trying to get to the list of all the news items like before. It was quick and easy.

Can we find a way to upload photos for the profiles rather than that URL thing?
I click on people's profiles and the pictures aren't working.
I know I'm treading on Amanda Olsen territory with all my crossposting, but everytime I suggest it I find a different forum where it might fit better.
