I live in a fairly small town in Kansas and never
could afford the travel or concert ticket money etc.

I can believe that, I been into Prince for 18 years and I've not seen him yet! I have fairly similar reasons. Im going to see that man this year though, if he comes to London! Hope Im as successful as you in your good seats. What an interesting story, thank you xx

Since I first heard "1999" at a high school pool party. I knew who Prince was since "I Wanna Be Your Lover", but I'll never forget hearing "1999" start playing at that party. I sat on a couch ignoring the rest of the party until the album was over. That was it for me. I guess it was 1983...almost 20 years!

Me 2!

The good thing about this is that it is easier to appreciate both new and old when you stepped on the prince-train around this era!

I have been a fan since 1984 when purple rain came out. Like many of us, I had heard of the funny little guy that can sing and play, but never gave him much attention until I saw PR at the drive-in theatre. I was hooked after that. I still listen to him at least twice a week, if not more. TRC is a true work of a genius. I don't care for all the religious hyperbole, but I love the music and his voice is stunning.

i am a newbie Prince fan, i've heard of Prince and a couple of his songs when I was a little kid, I was a close minded little kid and i hated Prince for the way he looked and sound, I thought he was weird because he sounded like a woman. When I got older, I gave Prince a try and I was stunned by his music, and still is. He is the only artist that I ever heard that cover more ground than anyone, I think he's a genuis. I've been a "fan" for about a year now...I haven't heard everything he's done but i'm trying.

I've been a Prince fan for about 19 years. I remember when I was in high school and had just really become totally enchanted with Prince's music, my mom was like, "it's just a phase. You will be sick of him in no time." ha ha ha

I'm 35 now and I doubt I will ever "get over" Prince's music.

First concert was Parade 13th August 1986 Wembley Arena (16 years ago yesterday !!), 12th row, centre stage, centre block.

Knocked me out cold, didnt speak on the 6 hour journey home, just wanted to re live the whole night and savour the moments.. wow !
