Posting questions regarding pedophiles and related nature. Shouldn't threads like this be deleted?
I've seen this done twice on this site. Out of all the controversial discussions that take place on the forums... I just don't see a need to even entertain this sort of shit. . | |

by deleting the thread doesn't delete the problem...
education, debate and discussion on certain subjects are needed to raise awareness. "normal" healthy adults don't do around abusing children so it is unlikely any threads would "turn" people into child abusers and i think any mods would happily remove any pro-child abuse material (not that i think anyone would post such ideas) it's the taboos around such subjects that stop people reporting incidents of abuse. | |

Speaking of MJ and R Kelly threads are different I think...Maybe I'm seeing it differently.
Example...There was a thread a while ago. And this person posted pictures of a girl that was every bit of the 13-14 yrs old. I doubt very seriously she was 17-18. The orger asked if he was a pedophile for being attracted to girls as such. As I recalled, there were pictures posted of girls in their undies or maybe showing a small portion of their undies. It was threading that line of pornography and modeling and kids. Doesn't matter, these were kids in the pictures. It was questionably risky, maybe to some orgers and maybe not to others. Another thread that was posted yesterday. This thread was deleted. There was a question posed...An orger described his cousin, a man who shows a 14 young old and a 16 year old pornography. He then went into asking do we think his cousin is a pedophile. You know as I type this, I'm thinking that you can't stop people from doing stupid shit like this. What's my point? I'm not sure. I guess I wish I had control over people posting shit like that but I don't.

Most folks know by now that I strongly agree, I can't see the need to discuss sick shit like this on a site that doesn't / shouldn't have this sort of topics as their main focus. I wish Ben would see it's hurting people's opinions of the site, and it's credibility in the Prince community... if it's at all possible to sink any lower.
This has NOTHING to do with whether it's illegal or not, it's a sense of propriety and normalcy that make me want to ban this crap from the site. I'm not saying I'm normal, I'm just saying that perverted shit should be banned from existing on a website that makes a play at being well behaved. It's all pretense though

Absolutely should not be banned unless it's inciting paedophilic behaviour.
The thread referred to with pictures of a girl - there was nothing to suggest that she was underage at all. What that thread was trying to do (and it generated some good debate) was initiate a discussion on whether people felt guilty for finding younger girls attractive, in the sense that the law draws a relatively arbitrary line in the sand, and says, "don't cross it". In the UK it's 16, in some other European countries it's lower, and in other countries worldwide, it's older. The issue as I read it, was stimulated by that - there was a girl who may have been 19, or may have been 15. Had she been 15 years and 364 days old in the UK, it's paedophilic to want to have sex with her. Had she been 16 years and 1 day old in the UK, it's not paedophilic - or IS it indicative of paedophilic tendencies nevertheless? How about if she's actually 19 but she looks to many as if she's only 15? I thought that was a great thread, and would have been horrified if it had been locked. | |

You're so right. I'm starting to see that a lot of Prince fans are just up in the fucking air about anything. I can't get down like that. I'm upset at this because I've been a part of community that sort of thinks it's okay to discuss this sort of shit...dealing with kids. The line is drawn right there. Why should I even expose myself to this subject when there's no right ends about it. People accepted Prince fucking with Mayte before she was of age....and I guess people thought that was sexy.
