Aren't we supposed to receive an orgnote...

..when one of our threads is deleted? Mine is gone and I have no idea why or who to orgnote about it. It certainly was not "offensive, vulgar, obscene, threatening, abusive or excessively profane" in any way or violate any other rule I can find.

I believe you should get an orgnote, but it rarely seems to happen. confused
When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading.

it's a courtesy that we try to extend when we have to yank a thread, but a notification is not something that we "have" to do. it's more etiquette than protocol.

Then I'd have to say that most of the mods seem to lack that etiquette, I don't think I've ever known a user to get this infamous orgnote. shrug

There seems to be a bit of a confusion about what's really SUPPOSED to happen when a user has his or her thread locked or deleted... on this thread http://www.prince.org/msg/3/123494 Tom says that a user WOULD have recieved an orgnote, but here Anx says not necessarily. hmmm

Normally, yes. Generally speaking, we try to make it a habit to send notifications. Yet the thing that needs to be kept in mind is:

WE DON'T HAVE TO SEND NOTIFICATIONS.

Yes, to be nice and helpful, we should. It would be thoughtful and courteous. But, again:

WE DON'T HAVE TO.

If you had a thread yanked and you didn't get a notification and you want to know why, orgnote the site master and ask what happened, and he'll take it from there. That's pretty much how it works, from my understanding.

Some features force us to include a message. So I just assumed all of them did, and would just always include a letter with everything. I apologize for the confusion.

Okay my second thread that I posted so that my org friends would know I was leaving is gone too. I'm sure that one did not break any rule. I still haven't got an explanation for why either was deleted except that the second broke a rule, a rule which apparently is in invisible font.

I sent you an orgnote notifying you, and in addition, I have also just sent you another more detailed reply.
