Hullo.

I was just wondering why, when there's such a diverse load of stuff written about prince in the forums, some good, some bad - but a lot of intelligent, suggestive stuff, the "quotes" section currently seems to contain quotes that, 95% of the time, kiss prince's bottom?

Just wondering.

Are there certain criteria for the quotes, or is it more down to whether a particular person thinks that something ought to be up there?

i dont moderate that forum but anytime there is a political statement that disagrees with prince's political views i will make sure to post it..

...and I wasn't kissing any ass thank you very much... just using a little common sense. I think you missed the main point of my post... At the end of the day whether you think Prince is good or horrible, you'll still be waiting for the next episode. So what would be the point in posting the opinion of an orger who's "fronting"? Hmmmm?

However, if someone is willing to state a negative opinion of Prince or his music that is well thought out and detailed then I'm all for it.

I never really thought about that, good point. I always thought the intent of it was to share some nice comments about Prince, to highlight the discussions on this site and the nature of this site.

the whole feature seems pretty pointless. just adds to the excessive clutter on the home page.

I love the quotes section... I love quotes in general anyway.

It's on the homepage of a Prince fansite.

The homepage is meant to be portrayed as "positive" - as are most of the news items displayed. This is the page everyone will see when first coming to this site... it should be respectful and presentable. Ben himself has given us this directive.

When I see a good statement in a thread that has captured a respectful display of affection and/or criticism of Prince, I feature it. It then links to the thread from where it was stated.

If anyone comes to this site and ends up staying, they will no doubt find that the wide range of critiques about Prince (both good and bad) are all over the place on this site, and very well supported or rebutted by all it's members here.

I hope this answers your question. (and it was a good question)

i guess it does make sense, on reflection. Probably wouldn't look very good if people logged on to the site for the first time, and saw quotes like, "Prince is a fucking moron."
