I e-mailed the Mods and asked to made up to trusted. They said it wouldn't ordinarily be a problem, but for the fact that they didn't actually trust me.

What exactly is a "trusted member" trusted with anyway....?
Do they leave you a set of keys to lock up The Org when everyone's gone home, or something? Or maybe you have to take the week's takings to the bank to be deposited? I'd like to know what the the rest of us (are we "viewed-with-suspicion members"??) are missing out on... It just means one can post more times a day.

Correct. Soon I'll be automatically upgrading people based on how long you've been here, how often moderators have had to bug you, number of posts, etc... but for now you have to ask to be upgraded. And I only do it currently if you "need" it, i.e., you have a history of running out of posts, and I consider your posts not totally junk. ben -- "the prince.org guy" |

Are these new character gradings in any way related to the 'War On Terror', Ben? You know, everything changed after 9/11, 'they' say..... I'll decide who I trust. . [Edited 9/12/04 12:22pm]

And I'm also deeply fucking suspicious of anyone who asks to be trusted.

Founder | 'Trust' really doesn't have much to do with it (well, a tiny bit), I just couldn't come up with a better name when I was creating that access level. And I didn't want to do a whole nutty Prince-based thing like "newbie", "diehard", "per nilsen worshipper" or something, because that didn't seem to make much sense either...
Anyhow, I've renamed that level to "prolific poster" which is more accurate, anyhow. I'll overhaul the access levels and make better-defined ones at some point... it's just not a priority, and besides, there's only three real levels -- administrators (me), moderators (you know who they are), and ben -- "the prince.org guy" |

Ben, I don't know if it's possible but could I get this one next to my name? I'll be more tolerant of fools and won;t swear so much in the future. I am being completely serious. That's the one I want.

[Edited 9/12/04 12:22pm] Ben is like God here on the org. I can only imagine how easy it must be to determine who to trust and who to not . for one anybody with multiple accounts are dead givaways if they want to cause a ruckus in one name but act in another... I'm sure he can determine the solid from the soggy.. plus he knows our passwords... only god would make it this easy for himself... + =
