Please don't quote flames...

Just a small request to all you org folk. If you come across a really nasty post, please do the mods a HUGE favor and refrain from quoting it. If you want to respond to the users' comments, perhaps do something like precede your message with "In response to (USERS) comments..." or edit the offensive part out if you quote them.

If a bunch of people respond to someone's nasty comments before a mod gets to it to snip it, then we also have to go through every one of your replies and edit that too, which can increase the amount of work involved on a request exponentially.

I agree with ya Tom, but a simple work-around would be to copy the offensive stuff, hit ctrl-H, past it in the find-box and hit replace all. ( hmm provided you get the whole thread as one text, which you probably don't cuz I know you're a smart cookie)

Anyway, moving on boxed

eek I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU SAID THAT!!!! mad

Seriously, yeah. It's a hassle when a flame gets quoted over and over in a thread and we have to go through and play clean-up. So a good rule-of-thumb is - if you find it offensive, don't reproduce it! thumbs up!

We can only edit one post at a time, we do not see the entire collection of posts as one big section of editable text unfortunately.

Yup. Also, I just did some testing (I'm running Mac OS X Panther) with Apple Safari, Microsoft Internet Explorer, and Mozilla Firefox, and I found that the "find" feature only works in our edit post box when I'm using Firefox, for whatever reason. confuse

But yes, please don't quote flames. One of my mod pet peeves is when a user reports to the moderators that he/she has been flamed, but also quotes in a reply the same flame he/she reported.
Please note: effective March 21, 2010, I've stepped down from my prince.org Moderator position.

Or better yet, just ignore it, don't answer the flamer, and report it to the mods. wink
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.
