Paisley Park visit almost here! Well, my visit from the UK to Paisley Park is now less than a week away and I'm getting excited. We're going on the 'Prince The Tour' bus ride followed by seeing The Breeders at First Avenue. The next day, we'll be doing the Ultimate VIP tour at Paisley Park. I can't believe this is happening and it's a childhood dream come true! I'm also going to see 'Haim' in St Paul too...I've probably got most things covered, but has anyone got any tips on visiting Minneapolis in case I've missed something? | |

If you go back a while in this forum you'll find a lot of info from people who have visited MPLS in the past 1.5-2 years.
You can find some pretty relevant info here, too (it helped me a lot when I was planning my visit to MPLS last year ) : www.minneapolis.org (go to "Prince's Minneapolis)
I hope you'll have an amazing time ! It will be an unforgettable trip anyway !

Was a brilliant holiday! Paisley Park was amazing and I'll never forget it, that's for sure. We did the Ultimate VIP tour which I would recommend to everyone. The soundstage had the wow factor, mainly down to the size of the place, and we ended the experience by eating our veggie/vegan food in the NPG music room. After this, we went Palace Theatre in St Paul for the 'Haim' gig which was really good. Estie (the bassist) mentioned tearilly visiting Paisley Park the day before and said Prince was the reason she played music. She wore a Parade T-shirt on stage too. Incidentaly, Shania Twain visited Paisley Park the day after us... 'Lizzo' was the support act and she blew the roof off to a hometown crowd. Previous to that, we did the 'Prince Bus Tour' (Waconiaville) which tooks us to many relevant purple hotspots including the Purple Rain house, Capri Theatre and Riley Creek (where all the Prince graffitti is and the tribute fence). On the same evening, we went to see 'The Breeders' at First Avenue which had to be done so I could take a peek inside that legendary venue! We popped into Electric Fetus too and I bought Shelby J's album, the John L. Nelson CD and Ida Nielsion's Bassida-Marmalade LP. Unfortunately they didn't have Sheila E's new album in there...One of the first Prince related things we saw was the Schmidt music mural wall, so we had to pose for pictures there of course (along with many other people). Apart from that, we checked out Foshay Tower, Weissman Museum (which had a Prince photography section), Mall Of America (for the rides!), Minnehaha Falls, Sculpture Park (cherry and spoonbridge) and various other stuff. We did it all in a week and we only got back yesterday so currently suffering from jetlag on my sofa in the UK...The trip was rounded off with The Revolution's Euro tour announcement (London ticket booked) and NPG's London gig announcement (ticket also booked). Great times and I think every purple person should do it, if they can at one point in their lives (money depending!)
