Write a letter to the Council! - Re: P.P Delays For those of us who are in possession of tickets to P.P. (in our case, December), as well as booked flights, accom's etc and to those who's hearts broke upon hearing the news of delays, we took it upon ourselves to write a letter x 4... not to P.P (for they are only adhearing to what's coming down from Council) but to Council members themselves.
I urge you to do the same.
The Mayor's pushing hard for a conclusion to be reached sooner than later, so perhaps a flood of mail would greatly assist his cause! There is power in the pen - or keyboard, make your voice heard!
Council: council@ci.chanhassen.mn.us Mayor: DLaufenburger@ci.chanhassen.mn.us
This is the message I just got back from the Mayor, today:
"Thank you for taking time to share you concern. I will keep your situation in mind during the coming days as this item returns to the council for further consideration."

that's the mayor's emal. These council members email is separate. The mayor have done what he could do and was ready for opening and everything. It isnt his fault, it's the town council. It was also the neighbors complaining about the parking. I thought that had been worked out with the shuttles. The fans are also complaining about not being able to put momentos on the fence. Overtime it looks tacky. The balloons go flat and everything up there just gets dirty. I think fans should do something that lasts a lifetime, choose one of Prince's charity and contibute a certain amount every month. That will last a lifetime and Prince would be proud.

Don't write all of them..just write the two or three who voted against it. Writing the ones who wanted to approve it and complaining probably isn't going to help much.
And be polite when you write the ones who shut it down. Otherwise, it will just make them fortify their position, even if they know they are wrong.

The one council member who voted with the mayor only did so because he didn't think 120 days was long enough for the additional traffic studies and what not. The mayor was the only one on board, the only one who wanted to let it go ahead and adjust as necessary. Paisley Park is in your heart

Totally agreed, all! Keep it kind yet straight. I took the angle of lost revenue for the country. I also let them know that I was compassionate towards the daunting task ahead of them; going from a relatively sleepy little community to the epicentre of all thing Prince. That's gotta' be a scary notion for many and likely what I feel to be, at least a partial cause for their hesitation.
I also cc'd Paisley Park and suggested that they may want to petition the ticket holders to write to the Council themselves.

I wrote two separate emails, one to the Mayor and the other to the Council. Both respectful. I'll report on any response.
