I got my reservations at the Crowne Plaza Kendall. It's about 12 miles from South Beach and 10 miles from Downtown Miami. I'm not really sure if that's good, because I've never been to Miami and my friend got the room for $49 plus tax. Can anyone tell me if this is a good deal or are we too far from the festivities?

It's south west of Coral Gables, which is where we'll be spending part of Saturday. The problem with Kendel is that it'll take you 20 minutes to get into the SouthBeach if the traffic isn't too bad. Plus the parking garages in South Beach may be a bit pricey. It's normally 15 to 20 dollars a day for parking at the garages in South Beach, so you'd need to factor in parking expenses (Which you would have to do anyways if you're in South Beach though as the Hotels never mention the parking charge).

Being is Kendell is doable. Just bear in mind that the majority of our meetups will be in South Beach itself.

Just got off the phone with Karen and I've got some heart-breaking news.


Karen has been working hard towards getting her real estate license and just got her test date in the mail. The test date is May 5th. She really didn't anticipate getting a date so soon. And because she's worked so hard to get her life in order and this being a big, big step for her, it's not something she can easily let go by and take later. It would take 6 weeks just to get another test date set.

So unfortunately, Karen won't be able to be there.



She wishes us all lots of fun, and hopes to see pics. But just won't be able to make it.

The date is fast approaching, and I'm super excited to finally get to meet all of you. I was thinking that since everyone is going to be spread throughout Miami, that we can all exchange phone numbers for the updated schedule on April 28/29. This way, we can all stay connected in case someone gets mad lost. Just a suggestion though.
