Greetings,

Over the past couple months I've met a ton of my fellow Prince fans
in Chicago at the concerts, aftershows, after-parties and at
Berlin. I'm not new to Prince fandom, but just getting back into it
in Chicago.

Anyway, I'd talked to several people about having a party
for the release of the 20th Anniversary Purple Rain:SE DVD. I have
a large movie-screen and DVD projector with Suround Sound that I can
set up in my back-yard.

I would like to invite you all to come out for a back-yard
BBQ and Movie on Friday, August 27th. I live in McKinley Park (35th
& Damen) near the Orange Line. If you're interested in coming
please email me at boshtalk@aol.com for the exact address. Feel
free to bring a friend. My house isn't that big, but there's plenty
of room in the back yard. Rain-Check is Saturday the 28th (I'll
post here before 5pm Friday if it's to be postponed).

I have movie parties like this throughout the summer and have come
up with a small FAQ (see below). If you have any further questions

FAQ-BACK YARD THEATER: Purple Rain: 20th Anniversary Edition

Q. Should we bring blankets or lawn chairs to sit in while watching
the movies?
A. Yes, my back yard is teeming with grass crabs and biting snails.
Luckily the snails are deathly afraid of lawn chairs, and mostly
afraid of blankets.


Q. What about the grass crabs?
A. If you don't look at them and pretend they aren't there they will
get offended and leave.


Q. How much does this cost?
A. No charge. "Speak Friend and Enter."


Q. Will food be provided?
A. I'll supply the movie, the Grill and the meat (and veggie
burgers). If you want to bring side-dishes, snacks or drinks, feel
free. There is a grocery store and 6 carry-out restaurants within a
block of my house for your victual pleasure. I have several tables
set up if needed.


Q. What about booze?
A. Though there's a convenience store next door, they have no booze,
however there's a pub down the block with carry-out. There's also a
Jewel next to the El-Stop (10 minute walk). Get your fade on, just
don't get faded.


Q. What time should I arrive?
A. Well, no earlier than 6:30 and no later than 8:30. We'll fire thegrill up and play some tunes around 7pm. Feel free to pick up food
and bring with.


Q. How can I get there?
A. You can always find parking within a block of my house. It's a
safe neighborhood, I'd let my sister walk to the store naked in the
middle of the night, clothed only in hundred dollar bills and not
worry a bit. The 35th & Archer Orange stop stop is a 10 minute walk.
Hop on the bus and it's a 3 minute walk.

Finally got my copy after going to three stores that sold out of their copies before 11am.

So, the party lamp is lit!

I'll be at Berlin. I'm also considering having a "Graffiti Bridge:SE" movie party on Friday September 10th. If so, I'll have info to give out on Sunday.

Funny though...I did watch Purple Rain myself on Friday Night!

Hey, good time at Berlin last night. I met some new people, including Anxiety. I passed out a few flyers for the Grafitti Bridge party on the 10th. I'll start a new thread for it a little later.
