WELL, after discussing this with various orgers in the 8/22 philly show thread.

tailgating can be accomplished with everyone contributing something to the event.
Drinks
Snacks
Barb B Que grill?
Decorations
Chairs
Tables
MUSIC
Attitude (positive)
Those interested can offer to contribute.

We need to establish a meet time on the side of the road outside the Wachovia Center so we can all enter 2gether and park in the same area and set up the fun.

I suggest we meet at the Washington market center/plaza ( i think thats what its called) on the corner of S. Columbus ave (Delaware ave) and Washington streets near the Delaware river. there is an exit off I-95.

Any suggestions as to this?

We can meet there and once we have everyone 2gether, we can ride into the Wachovia parking lot.

Say at 4pm?

I will bring a few snacks.

My attitude is ALWAYS positive. (I become all frustrated when plans are not firm. It makes me nervous. Bad trait. )

Like I said in the other thread. . .my car acts like an applifier.
I also have some of those el cheapo white plastic chairs that I can throw in Da Bubble (my car)
I can bring some soda's and buns (hot dog and hamburger) if we are going to do the grill thing.
Now we need tables, a grill and some MEAT!!

jossy, i'm a mess, ok? i am coming from the south. the first 'philly' exit i come to is for all the stadiums, then if i go further it's columbus ave/DE ave, etc.

can you make it really easy for me? like maybe meet near a certain entrance of the center?

Coming from South Philly area, airport, stadiums via I-95:

Heading on I-95 North passing the stadiums.
Take exit #20 towards Columbus blvd/ Washington ave- drive for .3 miles
Keep slight left at fork towards an access street towards Washignton ave/Penns landing, drive a short distance.
Turn left on South Columbus blvd. drive for .1 miles.
(you will see parking lot of shopping area on the left)
Turn left onto washington ave drive for .1 miles.
make a U turn at S. Water St.

This area is up the road from Comcast Cablevision and the Riverside Theater where the LA Musicology concert was shown to Philly fans in April. It is a parking place to meet, greet and take off towards the Center.

If you arrive at Penns landing, you are too far north.

Coming from North Philly area, via I-95 heading South:

Heading on I-95 South passing the Benjamin Franklin bridge.
Take exit #20 towards Columbus blvd/ Washington ave- drive for .3 miles
Turn Right onto South Columbus blvd. drive for .3 miles.
You will see parking lot of shopping area on the right at the intersection of S.Columbus & Washington ave.

I have an inverter(for cars) so you can plug the radio in as a normal electrical receptacle.

hopefully i can make it on time, this is dependant on my sister travelling up from VA. i might not be able to be there until around 5...

No one has give me a definate answer. So I am going alone. .if you want to meat up with me, I'll be at the Broad Street side around 5pm. I have to go early to get my "Will Call" tickets anyway. I will have the Da Bubble, with the hatch up. .blasten some tunes. I anybody wants to come by and chat. .you're more than welcome.

I agree Jossy. I have tried numerous times to head up a Philly chapter of a fan club with little or no interest. Maybe someday.....but I look forward to meeting some more prince freaks. Today, I 'll be wearing the purple 1999 looking musicology concert shirt, my symbol earing, and rave symbol hat. be sure to say hi if ya ll see me.

im planning on being their by @least 3pm-445pm since im not sure what time will call opens,i myself have often tried 2 start a philly branch but no follow though w/others is if interested let me know i leave my cell#

just called wachovia they still claim 6:00 will call but i am hoping sooner
