Ray Charles used Cakewalk/Sonar!! I just got this message in my email from cakewalk news:
We will miss you Ray We were very saddened to hear of the passing of Ray Charles. As you may know, Ray was a Cakewalk user, and many of us here at Cakewalk had the honor of meeting him on several occasions. Ray leaves with us some wonderful memories and a magnificent body of work to remember him by for the years to come. Ray was truly a great individual, whose importance to music cannot be measured.
