Figured it's time to put up or...

Being a relatively new org-anism (3 months), i've lurking the "Artist" section for the most part and posted here occasionally trying to get a feel for this forum. There are some very talented folks here. thumbs up!

While in Florida, I had a discussion with my writing partner and we agreed that it would be a good idea to put a test mix by our group Tribal Disorder up on SoundClick. It's a piece I wrote called "747". The page is pretty barren at the moment but we'll try and flesh it out in the coming months.

Feel free to comment pro or con:

Thanks,

Hey NFO,

Where are you located in Florida?
We just played at the Jacksonville Jazz Festival the beginning of this month.

Thanks for the invite, we'll definitely take you up on it.

Y'all are gonna laugh your asses off when I say this...

This shit it FONKY!!! It takes me back a few years... it reminds me of when I was a kid in Iowa, and my grandpa taught me how to tend bar. Imagine this: a ten year old tending bar, hooking you up with a STIFF drink and bitchin you out when you didn't hit the tip cup! LMAO!!!

Gramps kept a shitload of Miles Davis in the jukebox, and he would get out there and dance with EVERYONE, swingin it like "Heeeeeyyyyy! Watch it, now!" And I mean cuttin' UP!!!

When a song hits you in the fondest childhood memories, THAT'S what it's all about. smile

Vina,

Thanks for the listen and I appreciate your comments. Miles worship is a definite influence.
Your use of the terms "organic and free" in describing the music is very perceptive.
The concept of the band is instrumental music based on heavy grooves and improvisation.
Basically it's set the groove, play the head and then blow.
(Hopefully giving the soloist the freedom to take the music in any direction.)

Thanks again,

man, I gotta put my two cents in...that's funkier than week-old pot of collard greens! I was diggin' the pass-offs between the overdriven guitar and the trumpet. Very nice groove!

Whoa! Break out the Glade and Maalox. That's funny. lol

That's myself (guitar) and my best friend (trumpet) having that conversation.
Thank you so much for taking the time to listen and post your "tasty" comments.
