I'm on GirlBros radio!

Our very own sosgemini has a groovy radio station on live365, GirlBros radio

He just added me to his playlist! woot! That makes 3 stations that I'm on. cool

I told him I would recommend some other groovy org musicians... wink

I know lots of us are on New Power Radio as well, and Joe Kelley has our New Funk Order cd.

What other internet radio stations are any of you on and do you think it's a good way to promote your music?

I thought of you when I created this thread. smile College radio would be the next step, but I don't think my music is ready for that since I just have demos. But I'm not sure.

U could knock yourself out hunting up the zillions of terrestrial stations accessible to the public by and for independent bands/musicians. Just pump in 'internet radio for independent musicians' and go nuts.

Here's one that looks OK

too cute...im really enjoying your tracks vina....your ear for "soundscapes" is very good....

hey, is this my first post in this forum? woot!

for those who dont know i started girlbros radio as a way to promote the awesome work of wendy and lisa and their associated artist....ive done very little advertising yet (in 1 1/2 months of being on air) have reached a nice lil fanbase....already our show ranks in the top twenty (category wise) at live365 and has out-rated the joe kelly show. razz out of 20,000 shows my show is currently ranking over-all at 1300 or so....granted im sure the other 17,000 shows are probably all either deleted or "free trials" that have expired...i still am encouraged by the responce....we are averaging 1300 listeners a month in our less then two months average...thats gotta be a good sign..no?

its interesting how far the wendy and lisa six-degrees thang goes....for instance, al green worked with tchad blake (producer-enginer god) on a couple 80's cds..tchad blake produced wendy and lisa's girlbros.....another example? chris bruce is a longtime collaborator of wendy and lisa...chris and jill jones released an album called "two" a few years back...both artist appear on kristin vanguards debut cd...kristin vanguard is famous for her vocal performance of elvis costello and burt bacharach's "god give me grace".....elvis costello released a couple albums produced by mitchell froom (and execute produced by tchad blake) who was married to susanne vega.....mitchell froom co-wrote "mother of pearl" with wendy and lisa and micheal penn who is married to amiee mann and who credits elvis colstello as an influence...all of of the artist appear on girlbros radio....

why? well, because good artist tend to enjoy each other's company...and i've always found that one good artist leads to another...plus, the synergy created from the joining of good musicians always leads to a satisfying listen (doyle bramhall and bb king?) ....bjork (not yet an associated artist) once said the mother of all creativity is collabaration....and thats what i love most about wendy and lisa...be it seal, prince, van hunt, neil finn or kd lang, they allow the juices to flow and compliment the pre-existent talent to shine even more.....

so, each artist featured on girlbros has a link back to wendy and lisa.....(for the most part) and i thought, "hey, wouldnt it be cool to add those influenced by wendy and lisa to also be featured?" so veruca salt is there...so is alana davis and nikka costa....

and vinablue.....if anyone else would like to be added hit me up orgnote style...or email.....

a polite edit....

worship SOS IS HERE!!! dancing jig

Thanks so much for the compliments, it's truly an honor to be on your playlist. I do fall into the category of being inspired by Wendy & Lisa, they are musical goddesses. But really I just took the opportunity to ask and I'm glad I did!

Otan, you should be on there too... wink
