High: I like it. Stripped down groove, a la Prince's IT/Forever in My Life.

The one thing I would suggest about your music is the singing - the vocals sound stilted at times - like you're forcing an accent (not like on 17, where it's sposed to be there, but on a song like FAG, where, I dunno, the accent there doesn't sell the song to me that well ... maybe it's just me. The production is slick, if maybe TOO electronic, no organic instruments in there. The grooves are good.

What kind of mic are you using? I'm impressed with the stuff!

Thanks 4 taking the time 2 listen! I appreciate the feedback. Not sure what you're saying about the accent, maybe just the style of voice I use? Yeah, I would love to get some organic instruments like guitars or horns or something, I'm headed in that direction.

As far as the mic, different ones for different songs, but couldn't tell u the names of any of them. It's just whatever they had set up at the studio. I don't know much about engineering, the way I record is I practice all my beats and music at home until I feel ready enough to go to the studio and lay it down. Drums are the hardest part for me cuz I go from scratch, but I'm getting better. I think I'm getting better at mixing too, but still have a lot to learn. So, all your comments are appreciated, Otan!

Cool stuff! I liked the 'FAG' song, especially the bridge. It has that 80's style Prince electro funk vibe. I agree it could use some 'real' instruments here and there but I like it like it is already smile

I'm listening to Art right now. Really cool! I like the lyrics a lot, and the beats. Your voice is good too. I like the arrangement. Is there a typewriter sound in there?

Thanks, Vina. It's not a typewriter, just a drum that I put in there. My original intention was to have it like a hammering drum going back and forth between the speakers, but I didn't have the money to figure out how to get the right effect I wanted that day in the studio. Yep, I'm a po mo'fo! hrmph I really need to get my own equipment, cuz more often than not I end up "settling" instead of really getting things the way I want.

I'm checking out your stuff tomorrow by the way. Long as my boss ain't hovering around me all day like today.

Cool Stuff. Great songs, great harmonies but most importantly GREAT VOICE.

It is a little cold but its like new wave or Devo or something. I hear Oingo Boingo or some 80's thing. It's just cool and dark with great things happening.

Care to elaborate?
