What is music to me?

Now THIS is a very good question.

It's a way to connect with people on a spiritual level... communication without words. A blending of science and spirituality, finding the ways to move people and stir their emotions with the power of melody.

And to me, it's a way to uncover that which is hidden in the self, a raw supernatural power which is inherent in ALL of us, just waiting to be tapped.

Just MY opinion.

K... I'm really surprised that no one else has replied to this one. This is one of the most interesting questions that anyone has ASKED in here!!

It's a chance to really let us out here in Org-land know what music means to YOU. To let us know whether your inspiration comes from inside yourself... or from inside the pages of a Playboy magazine. biggrin

A musician is not someone who merely plays music... it is someone who sculpts a heartfelt piece of ART out of intangible material... and makes it MEAN something.

Or am I just f**ked for thinking music is something more than NOTES?

cool ONCE THE LANGUAGE OF MUSIC HAS BEEN LEARNT, PERSONALLY, I FEEL THESE DAYS THAT I'VE A PATHWAY TO MY INNER SELF.I DON'T WANT TO SOUND WANKY, BUT AFTER 30 YEARS OF PLAYING, (MAINLY GUITAR)I PICK UP MY INSTRUMENT AND EVERYTHING FLOWS FROM MY INNERSELF.IT SURPRISES ME AND THIS IS 1.FORMAT. I S'POSE I 'D CALL IT MY CREATIVE & IMPROVISATIONAL SELF.
THEN, THERE'S THE DISCIPLINE SIDE; 1,2,3,4; COUNTS: GET THAT FLOW CLEAN & PRECISE.
ALL IN ALL, THERE'S A WONDERFULLY "GOING BACK HOME", JOYOUS ,TINGLING FEELING I ENJOY WHILE PLAYING & LISTENING TO MUSIC.PEOLE LIKE PRINCE, CARLOS, B.B. & ON & ON; YOUVE JUST GOTTA LOOK AT THERE FACE TO SEE WHAT I MEAN.THANKYOU GOD 4 MUSIC,WITHOUT THIS GIFT I THINK I'D BE DEAD BY NOW. wink
~PClinuxOS~ yes I've been here longer than I care to remember, ... I drop in from time to time, ... thumbs up!

I think it was Keith that once said...it's not how you play it...it's not how you make it. It's how you hear it.
