Nice lil acoustic dittie This is a track from my acoustic based group Zoe Charm. Courtney Danielson and myself are the project. We generally perform soley as a duo. This is just a nice piece of pop ( I am a sucker for) and is just a bit different than my normal Plexi on 11 mindset. We have been on a bit of a hiatus, but at some point we will make noise again... The tune is called Girl Like Me ( ummm I'm not the girl... I do the boy parts http://www.toneninja.net/...ike_Me.mp3 [This message was edited Tue Mar 23 22:20:13 2004 by Kevlar] [This message was edited Tue Mar 23 22:20:51 2004 by Kevlar] Turn that damn gitarr down!! http://www.soundclick.com/kevinschafer

Like it.
Vocals are cool, nice range. Reminds me of Ani Defranco but maybe it's because of the combo of vocals and acoustic guitar

Thanks for checking it out. It is a nice bit of pop, Ani is definately an influence, esp on some of our more introspective ( for lack of a better word) work. Lisa Loeb is a fave as well. Ain't no funk with this stuff, it is much more just a pure pop tune type project. Turn that damn gitarr down!! http://www.soundclick.com/kevinschafer

Good track. The vocals remind me a bit of Juliana Hatfield, and Ani of course. Very cool blend. I like how the song gets a little rougher in the middle. Nice touch.
I really like the name of the band too, Zoe Charm. Very cool.

I really like the name of the band too, Zoe Charm. Very cool. Hey Thanks for checking it out. Courtney is a big Julianna fan. Most of our stuff is pretty mellow so I decided it would be fun to add a bit of loud to it. Zoe ( Pronounced Zoee) was the name of a friends dog and I always thought the dog was so charming... Kinda takes the mystery away don't it? Turn that damn gitarr down!! http://www.soundclick.com/kevinschafer

Man this is cool!
I really dig the harmonies and the way the beat sets up the instruments! Very flavorful chords!

Jshua Thanks man, I appreciate it. I am always playing with open strings on my chords so I never have an idea what the hell I am doing, but I like how they ring. I kept the drums as 80s straight as I could, I was gonna add more swing to them but ended up digging the super mechanical vibe. I just locked it up with what I was doing on the acoustic. MrSquiggle said: Great name BTW!! Thanks for checking it out. Man if you saw the set up I recorded on...lol I used an Akai DPS12 recorder with a Squier electric guitar. Both the acoustic and electric were mic'd with my ancient Radio Shack PZM mics... It is pretty funny stuff. I good friend of mine did some mastering magic for me which helped greatly. What is Sixpence? I am not familiar.... Turn that damn gitarr down!! http://www.soundclick.com/kevinschafer
