Your song: "One Law"

WOW!

Is that a helicopter sound at the beginning mixed in with the croud?
cool!

Ah yeah it is. When I was " young " I always wanted to be famous and do that flying into a stadium thing in a chopper then tell the world to just relax and love each other cos it's the only thing that makes sense... so I have tried to create that feeling with this song.

Just saw the NFO homepage and spotlight spread - looks great and thanks again. xo

yamomma lol my answer to your 'age' question I'm only giving to help you win that bet - sorry if it makes you lose! So...

I am physically 33 years old but I have managed to tap into the Fountain of Youth which regenerates cells so you kind of don't age as much as people who worry alot. I have very potent spiritual beliefs as well and in that context I'm one of the oldest beings in the universe... which is what I meant when I said to Vina that I was ' OLD '. But funnily... old spiritual age somehow also equates with ' being a child again '. Child genious? Very kind of you to say ... might be true - depending on how you view my above very crazy comments!!

I'll try and get some lyrics up on the soundclick page for you soon... xo

Jshua you're a sweetie... thanks darlin. xo

And Vina.. lol... appreciate your steppin in on the age thing but hopefully I've said enough about it above to completely confuse everyone!...xo

Alot of Love to all of you - completely gorgeous people,

PB.

Ok - if you wanna win that bet you tell em my inner child is 3 - and technically - that's how old I really am. ( smile )

The songs on soundclick date back 4 years and up to the present... " The Real Thing " being the most recent : most of the stuff is done on 8 tracks of cassette - but I started using 8 tracks of digital about a year ago.

Awesome! I TOTALLY know what you mean. I've always been told I look young for my age, but I'm wise beyond my years. And Yikes! I'll be 32 this September. It blows my mind because I still feel like a kid, and I ALWAYS have to stop and think when people ask how old I am. I have to think, OK, I was born in 72... and I calculate it.

cool.
I said everything sounded within a 4-5 year block. (mainly the sounds)
I also said you were 20-25 tops

They said 5-7 years (mainly because there are so many "polished" sounding songs
They also said 35 (but neither of us had seen your picture before that bet, we were going strictly on the sound of your voice and choice vocabulary)

I'm gonna claim "draw"!

Thanks PB,

mmm... it's interesting cos the last 'record company' I approached with my stuff asked me on the phone how old I am. I said " as old as I sound " which got me a meeting with the head exec. Anyway, they loved the music and wanted to take it to the next step, but when they asked me again how old I was and I told em 33 - the guy looks at me point blank and says " thanks for your time but no one in this industry will touch you. You're too old."

From that point on... well.. long story... but I'd rather be here with nice people, sincere hearts and a genuine love for music - than in an industry of folks with no vision.

Hope that doesnt sound harsh.

Funny you said that.
I've been off by 2 years for my own age for a while now until my wife reminded me this morning how old I really am. Come to find out I'm younger than I thought I was. Most people think I'm 21 in the office and for some reason have thought that for the last 7 years? I say, you know, it's been 7 years since I started here, right? Then they go into the whofarted face. So it's not me stuck in the time warp. I mean really. Maybe the people in my office are that old?

I say good!
(apparently all that grey hair only shows up under direct sunlight. My wife sure points it out daily)

Not at all!
Unfortunately, that's the real world in the music business.
That's why we tend to avoid it all together and focus on things like http://newfunkorder.com

One of the campain/commercials I'm working on for the NFO has tag lines like:

Over 24?
Overweight?
Bad completion?
Can't dance?

But you actually can play a musical instrument very well?
Want to get in the record industry?

FORGET IT
IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN

But we at the newfunkorder welcome you...

Right now, that sounds like we're a promotion company for old ugly people. So I'm working on the wording for that one! Whatever I come up with, I want to lay down the hard-cold facts about this "business" and point out that you don't have to go that route anymore.
(and that your not alone)

It seems age isn't so much an issue in other genres of music although country music is starting to go that route.

It's your ability that counts in Jazz and other instrumental forms of music.
It's time for pop to die.
Perhaps if FUNK stood more out on it's own, this would be less an issue.

This is what KILLS ME.
I want to see another "great" like Jimi, Miles, Coltrane, EW&F, Sly, Joni, Stevie, etc.

But with this over saturation of crap, we've lost two decades of children that won't be exposed to cool music because of corporate radio. (unless they have cool parents like me who will share with them what it's really about!)

Anyway, I'm preachin to the choir.

PB,
Check out NFO's radio show: http://newfunkorder.com/W...NFO_01.m3u
or download it here: http://newfunkorder.com/W...NFO_01.mp3

and welcome to the NFO!
I got the inside in-FO and this album by far mo' funky than the last!
(Not that the last one was bad, we just raised the bar)
