the tone at the end of computer blue... another one of those "how did he do it" threads, but I've never met anyone who knows: that swirly distorted sound, almost sounds like some filter has been used. Anyone?

I understand it's a Boss flanger pedal (not sure what type) set to feedback.

A phaser pedal gives a nice variation as well. My old chorus pedal did it. Distortion and chorus/flange, in front of the guitar with the strings muted. I'll try that, I've just bought a Boss ME-50, which as a good selection of choruses. It sounds like the chorus is before the distortion in the effects chain, mind. | |

Makes sense if he's overdriving the amp to get feedback.
