ehhehe wish me luck, i will need. I would liek to be booed of the stage, it would be funny ehhehe. I will drink some tequila so i won´t get musical depression.

Don't worry - there's more people that dig Gn'R than would admit it. You could always try that reggae bit in Knocking On Heaven's Door if things are looking bad!
Tequila is good - not too much though!

If you knew it was reggae and you don't play anything close to reggae, did the booking person know what kind of band you are? Just curious. Why take a gig that you know will be a hard sell? He knows what kindof band we are, maybe he wants to innovate the carnival with rock n roll. I took the gig just to hang out and earn some money, it's not much but it's cool. :p

You know, I've often found that the gigs I think are going to be disasters end up being some of the best and most memorable ones. I think you'll do well, but good luck anyway!

I agree with you on that. The "oh lord why are we here?" gigs end up being the ones where you just DONT CARE by the time you start playing, and it's fun. So, if they already know what you do, musically, I would say, don't go anywhere NEAR reggae, except maybe as a spoof of "sweet child of mine" - that would be funny to hear, but for the rest of them, rawk out super hard. AH, it was great i arrived some hours ago, i was at my girlfriends house at the beach, i am pissed cause the motherfucker of her father didn't let her go. what a loosser. But the show itself ended up great, , besides LIVE and LET DIE, we fucked up the song, it was terrible. THe set list was small, it was. The reaction of the people was great in songs like patience, dont cry, sweet child o mine and the most known songs. Lots of people there was under THC influence and started trippign on the band. But there's lots of cats who ere into rock n roll, so it was cool. Muchhh better than i expected. AS a matter of fact it was great, and the owner of the pub really paid. :p
We played this songs: (you can see it's a "sell out" show) I would liek to have played the songs from appetite, but we played it easy Welcome to the jungle Don't cry It's so easy You ain't the first Live and Let Die Sweet child O Mine You could be Mine Wild horses (just guitars and chorus) Patience Knock on heaven's door Civil War Paradise city I used to love her (drummer on the bass, bass player on the drums, and singer with the guitar)

Smart guy. I know how I used to be at shows and if I had a daughter I'd be very restrictive. Don't take it too personally. "Daddy loves his girl" - that's all. One day, you might sing the same tune. (man did I just sound old) Glad it went good. All Rights Reserved. |

Moderator | Back in MY day....
You had to lock your daughter(s) in the parents master bedroom closet. You dern tootin' I'd be sneakin through their windows and all. Especially when G&R was on top and we were doin those tunes. (did I just show my age?) Girls liked that hair! If you had hair down to your waist, you were in. Which always made me wonder about the girls. The more you looked like a girl, the more girls you got.
