Hot Chip Just wanted to try and create a bit of a buzz about some old school friends of mine...
Hot Chip are an "R&Bedroom electro team" from London who make beats with biscuit tins and sing about blasting Yo La Tengo tunes around the streets of Putney. Their relationship with sanity is best described as 'strained', and we haven't even got to this genius EP yet. Coming across like The DIY Neptunes with their humour glands going haywire, 'Down With Prince' is a lo-fi fry-up of slap-bass, wiggly electronics and stop-start drum loops. It's as funny as it is fabulous and directs a torrent of rage at name-checking hipsters ("I'm sick of mother-fuckers tryin' to tell me that they're down with Prince," they seethe). Elsewhere, we get booty-shakin' beat mayhem ('The Ass Attack'), slick Gameboy-soul ('Sexual Chocolate') and the glorious sound of a group treading brave new ground, quite possibly without even meaning to. Hah I was gonna post about them in the Prince forum but thought someone had already done so Anyway, if you go here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/...e/A2107360 then you can listen to the Prince referencing track as well as a few others. They have a minimilast electro-pop/'funk' sound which I kinda like. ..... BULLSEYE!

Thanks, I had their first ep, since they are friends of mine, but haven't seen them in a while and then saw this about them. Makes me very proud as we used to discuss Prince at great lengths when we were at school and should have been paying attention! The Hottest chip of them all - www.hotchip.co.uk - Get down with Prince

That's pretty cool. Do you still see them at all? I know some people become more distant, the more involved in music they become (happening to me!)... ..... BULLSEYE!
