Wah Wah advice please

I play through a Vox wah wah pedal and a Fuzzface distortion and then into the amp (I like to keep things simple!) I'd like to beef up my wah though. I seem to only be able to get a very thin sound out of it, which is fine for funky kind of sound (ala Shaft) but nothing like Jimi or Stevie Ray (Voodoo Chile intro) which is why I bought it in the first place! Any ideas?

I a similar problem with my Crybaby and Fuzz face. Turns out there's something about impedance or some other electronic term I ddin't get in school. Supposedly, putting another pedal between the two should solve matters. Anyway, I ditched the Fuzz Face.
I think Hendrix and SRV both had their wahs after the fuzz though, have you tried this? Gives it more quack.

A really easy fix MIGHT be to rotate the wah knob inside the wah. If you look under the pedal (not the WHOLE pedal, but like, look between the pedal and the base) you'll see that the pedal is attached to a rotating knob with a gear on it.

The pedal controls the rotation of that knob. That's what makes the WAH (unless you have a digial/optical one). You can pull the strip with the gears on it AWAY from the knob and rotate the pot with your fingers to fine tune the wah... just remember than you're operating on the wah with it in the full-UP posistion, so what's the AH part.

I've had the same crybaby wah for 15 years and it still kicks ass. Oh - DO NOT use any adapter on the wah except theirs, as any other one (from my experience) will add lots of noise. I always use batteries. Costs more but it sounds better.

To go hear how the wah sounds after that little operation, go check out my song "Turning My Demons Loose" at www.soundclick.com/ultrasound. Pretty decent Hendrix kinda tone if you ask me.

Hope this helps.

Experiment with your chain. I put the wah LAST before the amp which gives me a much more raw Hendrix tone. Putting it before the distortion results in a totally different kind of wah - much more processes.

"Rotate the pot" as in "Pass the dutchie"? Hell yeah that will make you think you sound JUST LIKE Hendrix!
