That's really cool. The guitars say 1968 (fame hit in '66) but whateva. I also thought that he worked with an inventor to create one of his effects (fuzz box maybe)

I think they create different layouts for different periods of the guitarist... this period might be the Band Of Gypsies era, who knows.

It looks like the information is assembled from various sources (read the bottom of the pages, there's reference sources).

The Van Halen set-up was pretty complex. It was interesting that he had a set of monitors for his brother too.

It was the Band of Gypsies era for sure just because of the Uni-Vibe/Uni-vox pedal. I read this interview that said when he turned that on at the Filmore people were just blown away by his new toy. Think about Machine Gun without it?

Otan, love the new sig.

I've just come back from a nice long weekend in london and found time to try out a Fender Frontman 25R using the same guitar as mine (cheapo epiphone les paul) but omg what a difference it made to the sound compared to what used to spit out of my previous excuse for an amp. I'm no expert on the subtleties of tone and such, but it made my playing sound better at least! It's a shame I couldn't find the champion in the shops but the frontman guy claimed it was the closest alternative. A few weeks back I found a shop here in france that can order one in for me which is great - your previous sales pitch definitely did the trick as far as I'm concerned. The champion has the Dyna-touch gizmo and two inputs which could be usefull now I've found some kids to play with (provided i can get them off their nu metal tip and convert to the funk).

More importantly though I now have my payrise! WOOWOO! I'll be ordering for the end of next month...it's been tres frustrating as I've been working on my next track (mostly in my head) and it's been making me feel all kinda excited, but the guitar bits I've done so far just suffer from the laptop-speaker bottleneck. The sound doesnt give my ideas any justice. Reminds me, I need to get a direct-box thingy-m'jiggy as well.

yeah - I found a great home studio site (but for higher-end studios - home studio that actually records for clients, etc) and there's been quite a few mentions of the SansAmp - remember that old thing? Came out maybe 15 years ago. I'm thinking about looking into one again, but I dunno why, I've got more amp simulators than I need now... but you know how it is - gadgets make the boy happy.
