TRON

I've read that it's a guitar orchestra pedal. I have no idea what make and model it is though.

He used it a lot around 1988 and 1989. I love that sound too.

If you play with the front pick-up selected through a decent distortion pedal, maybe adding a bit of delay and compression for good measure, then surely you wouldn't be a million miles away from that sound would you?

I do know that his tech guys rip the hardware apart, and re-wire it and all kindsa shit.

Im not saying it isnt possible 2 replicate, but - much like Brian May's guitar sound, I dont think u will ever quite get it - u know what I mean?

Good luck!

Well babar 141, if it's any help, in GP article it says that Prince's floor effects are: (In this order) A Boss DS-2 Turbo Distortion, Boss VB-2 Vibrato, Boss DD-3 Digital Delay, Boss FL-2 Flanger, Boss OC-2 Octave, Boss BD-2 Blues Driver, CryBaby Wah, Roland EV-5 (which controls a rack mounted whammy effect) and a Dunlop Rotovibe. It then continues into a bunch of rack mounted effects probably way beyond most of our budgets and space restrictions! Those are the stomp boxes anyway. Hope this helps.

Oh no, dont give up man - I didnt mean that...but like I said...I think u may have 2 accept getting as close 2 that sound as your goal. I did have a good tech/spec kinda article from an old music mag once...but not anymore...it talked all about this chit.

U thought of maybe writing Takumi c/o the Park? Just a thought...

Good luck!

Hmmm. Have you tried a thinner pick? I've noticed using one can make certain thing sound more princely...

You have this entire set-up and are running it in this order? I find it really hard to believe that you can't get the sound with this many effects.

While guitars all sound different, with this many effects it seems like with tweaking all of the knobs you could sound like anybody you want. shrug

The next obvious question to me is, why are you trying to sound like anybody?
