Anyway, I like Hall & Oates! Okay man, I listened to Velvet Promise. Now see, thats what I'm talking about. I can hear your influences, but I also hear your originality. I'm kind of partial to songs with acoustic guitar and the bass interacting. I love your song. Its real and it works which equals = soul music. By the way, kenny G my buuttt LOL I did'nt hear those influence. But I do love Hall and Oats, Fleetwood Mac and the doobee Brothers(excuse the spelling). I supposed I should have mentioned them to make them feel more comfortable. Nevertheless..I likes a lot Bro... how bout me

this one snuck up on me...i had other thoughts for G's groove but by the end my head was bobbing...the begining (music theoretically speaking) had a very deceptive cadence...i love that Beau Hall 'special' crazy hook...good work guys.

Yep. That version was created from a CD, and my cd drive at work is a solid piece of crayola. I'll put the real thing online in a few minutes. But hey - all this scandal has pushed the song to the top of the funk charts over at soundclick! Well. NUMBER TWO under Coldplay's "Yellow" (obviously somebody's pulling a fast one over there). http://www.soundclick.com...bgenre=134 [This message was edited Thu Oct 2 18:23:07 PDT 2003 by otan] The Last Otan Track: www.funkmusician.com/what.mp3

Thats one of the best reviews Ive had mate, comparing me to the genius that is the madhouse albums, wow! I hope your right about me getting signed, maybe one day . Im glad you like the production as that been one of my main concerns for the past few months (got some new equipment see ). You are the 3rd person to actually get what Cloud9 Mission is all about. Letting it flow & hoping that others will follow my example. Not enough real music going on these days & I see what Im doing as a mission to change that. Not because my music is superior but just because I always put my heart & soul into every note of my tunes & I just hope that others will take inspiration from that. My funk face is daymn ugly lol Thanx for the props man, do you have a tunes yourself?? Lewis

I've put up one more version - THIS TIME with a bass guitar playing in there - but I think it might get muddy, since there's bass already in Funky's original version of Dreams. But, if you're not sick of the song by now, check out the latest iteration. The Last Otan Track: www.funkmusician.com/what.mp3

All the bs that went on about this song drove it. And the quality of the material. How's your remix coming? Did you hear it with the live bass? I can send you the wav if you want it... An old wisdom says "You get what you deserve". Seriously, all I did was just provide a nice groove, on which Beau build the actual song. He was the one that came up with the brilliant and ever so catchy "nevergonnaletyoumakemehatemyselfagain" chorus!!! RIP Prince: thank U 4 a funky Time...

So O...are you getting any feedback from peeps out there in clickland? Curious Not a peep. But I tried the "contact" link on my page, and it doesn't work... so if folks WERE trying to contact me, it wouldn't get through. I'll put a direct email link in there somewhere I spose. I've tried to figure out an actual NUMBER of plays, but can't find it anywhere. It would be nice to know how many times the song has been played... But it doesn't matter. Once Gregory's done his mix, I'll take the same tracks to a dj friend of mine here in ATL and get him to turn it into something for the clubs, and then I'll bribe Groovement into getting the song on some radio stations here in town. I honestly do think the song has potential. And Psychosoul - I'm still cooking your song. The lyrics aren't coming as easy because of the arrangement. The patterns go something like, 8 A's and 2 B's, then 12 A's - I'n not exactly sure. Because of the long period between changes, I'm having a hard time putting the "Beau Lyrics" touch on them (you know, verse chorus verse chorus chorus chorus). Right now, all I've got is "I hope you're happy". I don't know where it's going. I've been coming back to it about every other week trying to figure out what's going on in my head. It'll come out soon. The Last Otan Track: www.funkmusician.com/what.mp3
