Dig it... I have been playing Marshall amplifiers for MANY years and I have had 8 plexi heads, 4 JCM 900 model 4100 heads and 3 JCM 800 heads... I currently have 2 purple plexi heads... I rocked those bad boys through my Marshall cabinets that are loaded with 25 watt speakers.

I went a different direction now... I bought a Line 6 Vetta HD head with cabinet and FBV controller. I must say that this thing kicks the ass off my Marshalls. I wouldn't have wanted to admit it in the old days, but this is a bad motherfucker.



I am not joking when I say that this damned thing CAN sound like my old Marshalls, as well as my old Mesa Boogie head from the early nineties. Damn, Line 6 has great modeling technology.

Do any of you other players have one of these bad motherfuckers?

Yeah, it can be updated via MIDI or chip upgrades... it is fully flash upgradeable. You can transfer tones back and forth between the POD and the Vetta if you wish, but the Vetta has more amps and cabinets than the POD. It also has TONS of modeled effects pedals... all the cool old ones.

This thing is also stereo with independent amplifiers for each side... you can have the right side be an old Plexi and the left be a Mesa Boogie, etc. You can also blend two amplifiers together. Each amplifier has its own effects and everthing as well.

That's a hell of a system.

I play through a Marshall JCM 800 cab and a Fender Bassman amp (which takes both guitar and bass). In my apartment I can only crank it to 1 or 2 before the walls shake.

We have a Marshall and Fender amps. they sound great, but a lot of the times I find myself looking for a sound that I can't really produce with those amps.
