Importancy between music and life

What is more important to u as a musician - to go to a date with ur girlfriend and make her feel special, or make special music, that makes many people feel important and make them cry of happiness?

It's more important to enjoy those happy moments in life with people.

That way the joy you give to your honey or family that helps you make better music.

When we young we're tricked into that "Oh, my music is all that matters." But you realize when you get older that something's missing.

If it gets too bad you'll grow funny facial hair and sit on a bus in the "Faithfully" video.

Or you'll be humming along to Roy Clark "Yesterday when I was young."

Music is a great gift though and there's a great way to have a great life and music too.

I suspect the guy in the red suit wants us to get into that "I'm a tortured artist" crap.

And the other fellow wants us to have great music, a great career and a good relationship/marrige and great friends.

I dunno man - I'll be in a date with my wife and DAMN if songs aren't just THROWING themselves at me from around every corner, and I'm just WISHING I had one of those pocket 4-tracks with built in rhythm/bass, and a built in mic, and maybe a pocket guitar of some sort, and a cardboard box to get my breakdancing on, and by then, my wife is at the bar drunk and I'm in the car humming to myself.

wait, that sounds bad.

Love is what matters. If you can show someone love by doing either or (in the topic situation), by sharing love though music or through life, then that is what matters most.

Peace,
JD
