Why does everyone want to be Prince? The whole point of being influenced by an artist is to take what you like, add your own thing, and go in your own direction. And of course i dont literally mean that all artists here are trying too hard with the Prince thing, but many are (not necessarily here, but in general). Sometimes i do it myself, but im aware of it and i try to be careful.

Prince is a prime example of that. You can hear Hendrix,James Brown,George Clinton,and all of his influences in his sound. I once heard Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis say Prince could play the guitar solo from 'Stairway to Heaven' when they were in high school. They knew then he was destined to be a starr b/c no one else could play it!.PEACE comobridge | |
