I just wanna know the chords. Prince is known for using weird chords that I can't identify, purely by listening. Like in Purple Rain which uses a Bb (not difficult, but a little strange), or the D/F# in Raspberry Beret.... Maybe we can go to the movies and cry together

How about the tabs for Planet Earth? That would be a good one to experiment with.

And "Resolution". What are the chords to that one? Nothing I play sounds right.

PLANET EARTH: Verse: Eb maj | Dmaj | Eb maj | Dmaj | Eb maj | Dmaj | Gmin - Bb maj | Dsus - Dmaj || Chorus: Dmaj | Gmin | Dmaj | Gmin | Dmaj | Gmin | Gmin - Bb maj | Dsus - Dmaj || Bridge: Bb maj7 | Emin7 | Fmin7 - (Bb7*) | Eb maj7 | Cmin7 | Dmin7 | Gmaj || *this Bb7 chord is kind of half played, so I've put it in brackets. It's the V7 of the ii-V7-I progression, so it makes sense (ie. doesn't really stand out). _____ GUITAR: Intro/turnaround: A9sus | Amaj/G* | D7sus | D7sus : || x2 Verse: A7 | A7 | D7 | D7 : || Although I've written them as 7th chords (as that's what you'd solo over) he's really just playing power chord pattern most the time: A A A E F# E | A A G \ | D D D A B A | D D A \ : || ) *G in the bass (second time only when the whole band comes in) _____ SOMEWHERE HERE ON EARTH: Intro/Pre-verse: Gmaj7 | Amin7 | Gmaj7 | Amin7 - D7sus || Verse: Gmaj7 | Amin7 : || Chorus: Cmaj7 - Bmin7 - Amin7 | Cmaj7 - Bmin7 - Amin7 | C maj7 - Bmin7 - Amin7 | Cmaj7 - Bmin7 - Amin7 - D7sus | Gmaj7 etc. _____ THE ONE U WANNA C: Intro: Emaj | Esus | Emaj | Emaj || Then pretty much the same progression throughout: Amaj | E7 | Amaj | E7 | Amaj | E7 | Dmaj | Emaj : || _____ FUTURE BABY MAMA: Verse: Dmaj7 | Amaj7 | Dmaj7 | Amaj7 | Dmaj7 | Amaj7 | Fmaj7 | Cmaj7 - Bb maj7 - Amaj7 || Chorus: Dmaj7 | Amaj7 | Dmaj7 | C#maj - C#maj/F* - F#min7 | Dmaj7 | Amaj7 | Fmaj7 | Cmaj7 - Bb maj7 - Amaj7 || Bridge: Bmin7 | C#min7 | Bmin7 | C#maj - C#maj/F* - F#min7 | Bmin7 | Amaj7 | Fmaj7 | Cmaj7 - Bb maj7 - Amaj7 || *ie. F in the bass, aka C#maj first inversion _____ MR. GOODNIGHT: Pretty much the same 2 chord progression throughout: Cmaj7 | Cmaj7 | Emin7 | Emin7 : || _____ CHELSEA RODGERS: Pretty much the same progression throughout: Bb min7 - Cmin7 | Fmin7 : || [Edited 10/14/07 10:24am]
