Piano at age 11. Actually, piano was my first instrument with formal lessons, then I quit soon afterwards. Bass was my very first instrument, but I never had a formal lesson on it. Drums was the last one. This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes.

, remember those little electronic musical sticks... they cost around $19.99 and it comes with all the best music (Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star...etc...). loved it!
At age 6, I began piano lessons... was always too hyper, so that did not last long (we always owned a piano growing up though)... so I continued with what I had learned (not that great), but I have always had an incredible ear for sound and music... so I could/can figure out tunes if I truly wanted to. Beautiful Day!

Organ when I was five. My single mother was VERY poor but she had always been a music-lover and wanted her boys to do what she never had the opportunity to do -- learn music! She bought one of the cheapest organs in the store, and somehow she made a deal with them so she only had to pay very little every month, and one of the ladies there took compassion on her and her boys by offering my brother and me organ lessons for hardly anything. Yes, there were many times I wanted to skip the lessons, but I didn't since I felt the importance of it all. I later moved on to other things (sometimes using very old school instruments), but keys has always been my thing. I thank God for the wisdom of my mother. Every child should be given the gift of music. In the least, it's a hobby that's kept me out of trouble.
