Help With Prince's Strat

So I have been playing guitar for about 5 years now and I want to learn to work on and cusomize them. I have my first guitar which is a Squier Strat that I want to mess around with. I've decided that I want to turn it into Prince's baby blue Strat that he used heavily between '03 and '06. I figure since the Squier is only worth about $100 it would be a good one to mess with since I don't care if I end up messing it up. So I have a few questions being that I am not an expert on parts or working on guitars.

1.) Does anyone know what the color of it is called? Is it a Fender color or is it just a custom light blue paint job?

2.) What kind of equipment does it have on it? I know it's got a Floyd Rose Original but I can't tell what the pickups are. It looks like maybe a single coil at the neck and a humbucker at the bridge? But I am not sure as far as brands go or anything else.

3.) Does he change the scales on his guitars? I have heard that you can change it with the neck and since I am about the same height as Prince I was interested in trying it.

4.) Also, does anyone have a close up picture of it?

I have tried searching the net but I can't find much info about it. The guitar is now black but I have a friend that is going to paint it for me but I am going to do everything else. It also has the dark neck but I am going to change it to an actual strat neck with the light color. Anyways thank you all in advance for any and all help you can give! biggrin

The colour to me looks like Daphne Blue, although it looks a little whiter perhaps.

Pickups - its probably the same set of EMGs Prince uses on his cloud guitars- an SA single coil and an 81 humbucker. He's also removed one of the tone controls. To install this successfully and get it looking right, you'll need a new pickguard with just the holes you need cut into it. Another important element to remember with EMGs is that, since they're active pickups, you'll need to find room in your guitar for a 9v battery. I'm not entirely sure how Squier strats are routed out in the factory, and how much space you'll have in there, but you may well have to rout out a cavity to accommodate the electrics for the EMGs.

Also, the Floyd Rose is resting on the body, rather than floating, so don't be taking the hacksaw to your guitar. It may be tricky fitting a new Floyd Rose since there are already six screw holes for the vintage trem to be filled in before you sink in the pivot posts for the FR.

Assuming you're referring to the scale length of the guitar, on his strat it appears unchanged, with a 21 fret neck and a scale length of 25.5"

Good luck with your project!
