U lucky gits I was using cubase vst but it was shit. Now its stopped recording audio on my system so now I am without studio. Ive been using a shit four track tape recorder thats older than my grandad & use cooledit to add other instruments & mix it. Its nearly impossible for me to properly mix or produce my songs. All the recent tracks were me playing live & hoping for the best so I cant use any studio editing techniques like composites or auto tune. Good news is that Im getting a copy of Logic Audio Platinum which Ive used before in college & I can get on with. Hopefully my sound will improove a great deal in a few months & decent vocals wont be so impossible God bless Lewis

Cakewalk Pro Audio 8 with my three Ensoniq samplers that can play 8 "instruments" each simultaneously. I sometimes use Cool Edit Pro 2.0 for the final mix.

U lucky gits I was using cubase vst but it was shit. Maybe you don't know how to use it or... Now its stopped recording audio on my system so now I am without studio. ...Maybe your system can't handle it. You got to be very picky with your motherboard when you plan to work with Cubase. Cubase/Nuendo or ProTools, the difference is thin (I'm not talking bout hardware, only the software part).

I'm seriously thinking of getting Reason and Native Instrument soft synths! has anyone used reason? how is it? I found it was more aimed a makers of dance/electronic music. Great effects on it but its not really made for musicians, its more aimed at DJs & programmers

The college I attend in Bedford is a Stienberg testing center & we are responsible for trying out the latest VST prototypes. I know how to use it mate. My system is fine too, its definatly a software problem as Pro Logic, Reason & cakewalk all worked fine.

To see if can be used for non-electronica stuff...for Funk! I'll check it out. Oh and I'm still checking your grooves!

Cubase VST. I'll never use anything else. Started with Cubase on the old Atari ST and now I just know the package too well, I wouldn't be able to move to another package! Just personal preference.
