Hi PP4, well there was a thread i posted not too long ago that said I got one of my poetry books in the library! I also got 2 positions on magazines 3 days apart. What about you?

Every Issue Columns-

Fashion Direct- Our big fashion column, where we talk about all the season's style's and trends, and where to buy them. It is an extensive column with a lot of great info about fashion, the look of the season, news on events like fashion shows, and also news on models and different fashion designers.

Trend Spotting- We feature the hottest trends of the season and show how its worn, and the people who create them.

How can I advertise with Skylar?

If you have a business small or big that is in the Fashion, Beauty, Health, Luxury and other industries that fit with our company you can let us know if you are interested. We accept classified ads, quarter page ads, half page ads, and whole page ads in both black and white and in color.

How much is Ad Space?

It starts at $25.00 and goes up depending on size and the type of ad you want to place.

Model Search 2006-

Sign up for our next model search will end on February 15, 2006. We will be selecting our sem-finalists and the first challenge will take place on March 20, 2006. We will be eliminating participants from each round, and selecting a winner of each challenge as well. We really need to work hard on this.


How can I sign up for the Model Search?

Click the sign up button in the info packet and send us 2 picture's a head shot and a full body shot, once we receive your photo's we will email you the sign up and payment info which will include all the forms you need to fill out and send in. You can mail order your forms and payment, or you can fax your forms and pay through PayPal. If you have not received an info packet, please request one.

How much is it to sign up for the Model Search?

The participation donation for the Model Search is $10.00.

Do I have to send the $10.00 in order to participate?

If you choose not to send the $10.00 participation donation you will not be able to compete. This is a model search and a fundraiser that will not just benefit Skylar, but also the model search participants as well.

Why do we need parental consent?

We ask for parental consent, so that we don't get in trouble for printing picture's without their permission. We just want them to know what is going on with their children and make sure they are aware of Skylar Magazine. Even though we would never put their children in an un comfortable situation or exploit them we still want them to know about us.

If I don't make semi finals can I get my $10.00 back?

There will be no re-funds for people who are eliminated, disqualified, or people who drop out or do not make the semi-finals. All of our rule's and the info is explained in the info packet.

If I miss a deadline for a challenge, can I still participate in the contest?

If you miss a deadline you will be disqualified from the contest. (No re-funds)

Can I send in my forms now and pay later?

You need to send all the forms and payment in by February 15th in order to participate. However, if you wish to pay through Pay Pal, you can pay first and then mail in your forms, just as long as everything gets to us by February 15th. There will be no re-funds.

When does sign up end?

Sign up ends on February 15th. The first challenge will take place on March 20th after our semi-finalists have been chosen.

What are the prizes for the winner?

The winner of Skylar Model Search 2006 will be featured on the cover of our Summer 2006 issue and also will be featured in a fashion editorial. There will be other prizes given throughout the competition to challenge winners.

What kind of challenges will you be having, and how difficult will they be?

We cannot give you any info on challenges, and what they will consist of, or the level of difficulty. We want to keep it as hush hush as possible throughout the contest.

Why should I sign up for Skylar Model Search 2006?

The model search is a lot of fun, and a great learning experience. It will help you with your confidence, and it gives you a chance to be creative. You will get to learn a lot of different things such as how to pose, facial expressions, makeup and hair style tips, etc. If you can handle a lot of pressure, constructive critism, then you should definitely sign up for this contest.

Street Painting Festival 2006 BABY!

This is the 12th year of the festival. This will be my 10th year doin' it.

Last year and this year, I've been on the committee. The website, T-Shirt design, and now this year the DVD is all my responsibility. On top of it, I'm also a contributing artist come festival time.

I have four articles to write for the major newspapers down this way and I have absolutely no time to do it in. Before, they gave us until the end of January, now they want it by the first of January. I'm stressin' a little.

On the plus side ... Do you all remember Cbabi Bayoc? He's the guy who did the cover art for Prince's "The Rainbow Children". He will be one of the featured artists this year at the festival. I had the honor of talking to this cat a few months ago and he'll be making it down to some warm South Florida weather the last weekend of Feb. Talk about meeting a hero! (for me anyway)

I didn't want to say anything until that was confirmed so I'm pretty excited about that. He said he had a few origianls that are sketches right now that he'd like to take a stab at on the pavement. Oh there will be photos. Lot's of them. I promise.

This is performance art like you've never seen it. Think of it as street dancing for painters ... or something like that.

Bought a new Geddy Lee edition Fender Bass and as soon as my finger heals I need to get this recorded.
