That's right that's right. Last night me and Matt were going over the list of songs, checking off the ones that we both approved of, so we would know what remains to be fixed, and I caught myself REALLY nitpicking the stuff.

So, I stopped and thought, "what if I was paying by the hour for these fixes?" and WOW! Everything suddenly sounded awesomely perfect. Seriously. When you have the luxury of time or money or whatever I've been afforded, I guess it can become a bad thing at some point.

Kind of like the celebration that followed. I called my best friend at 10:30, went and dragged him out to the studio (lured with Corona and Marlboros) and we BLASTED these ten songs for about 4 hours. Got home at 3, deaf and hurtin, and so, yeah, I'm definitely going to pay the price today.

But holy cow. These 10 songs are the best they can sound. They have met my highest expectations of this project - in fact, I pretty much never thought that they would sound this good. Thanks to everybody that gave me feedback and input - positive and negative - on these tracks - even back to when I was posting the rough rough demos. (rermember "whatchagonnado" when it was me, a drum machine and a bass guitar? hoo.)

So, now it's time to review them a few last times and then head up to Chapel Hill to get them mastered. I think the CD will be totally finished, as in, a box of shrink-wrapped discs in my hand, hopefully in 4 weeks.

Phew! Congratulations Beau ! It's been real interesting reading as you've posted your thoughts outloud about your studio project & the process of assessing how to go about it. Lot's of valuable info . Main thing is you've reached a point of logical satisfaction. Last I read you were thinking it'd be months till completion!

Duuuuude... I finally sat down to listen to the tracks and they're sounding really good on my 5.1 stereo. Sooooo awesome to witness your progression. Can't wait to buy this cd.
