Tell us something about your current project! I'm curious.

i'm writing a really big long article about a folk musician for a national magazine right now. i finished my rough draft this afternoon, and hopefully it'll be in my editor's e-mailbox by monday morning, and on newsstands by may!

and next week, i'm going to be performing in my second city improv class' second presentation (if yer in chicago and wanna come see, drop me an orgnote and i'll give you the details - it's just a lousy buck to get in, and it's a good reason to get out of the house and come heckle me).

and after those things are over, i'm going to start work on designing my own deck of tarot cards.

Are you serious? I've wanted to do that... like a deck focused on creativity. There is a William Blake Tarot deck that is out of print that focuses on creativity.

very serious! it'll be my second deck. i made a deck a few years back as a christmas gift for the person i was dating at the time. this time i'm making them for myself - if they come out really really well, i might even try to sell them.

i have an aquarian deck and i have a book of the salvador dali deck, but i don't have the actual cards. i'd love to get the voyager deck one day, i really like how those look.

i'm putting together ideas for my deck - i've been looking at some of istvan banyai's design work and i've been looking at chinese takeout menus, and getting a lot of ideas. i know that sounds wacky, but if i can get the ideas out of my head and on to the cards, i think it's gonna be cool.

I'm writing a feature length screenplay about a Palestinian lighthouse keeper who swims in her sleep. The genre is "political ghost story" -- Nadia develops a relationship with a ghost ship that passes by every night...
