I wanna start making music on my computer...

What program should i start with? I need something that's not too difficult to operate,
and don't say FruityLoops (I have that already).

If you already have fruity loops then I would guess the next step up would be Propellerhead's Reason. There's only so much you can make using those softwares on computer without also using a peripheral controller so if you haven't got one of those then look into it. Also if you want to record voice or external instruments then begin with using CoolEdit/Audition.

well what exactly are yu trying to do?

Do you just want to have fun with the programs and loops or are you serious?

If your serious
you have to get the equipment

Beats, standard drum machines and syths, thats really all you need with those
Mic's Maybe an amp for your keyboard,
Dynamic mic's for instrumental, or Condens for vocals

its all in your equipment

But if your just playing around
all you really need is fruityloops and maybe reason
and a mic if you want to record vocals

do you have any equipment on you now?
if so all you really need is a few midi cables and a mic
Search Ebay for software, Cubase,Cakewalk,reason,etc...
your bound to get a bargain there

I have a laptop with a decent soundcard(midi in/out etc)
And a mic (Shure).
I don't need to buy software becuase I have a friend who can fix me up with the software i need.. I was talking about recommendations for hardware (drum machines, midi keyboards etc.) once again thanks for the help smile

Alright Drum Machines are sometime sbundled with software (reason etc)
but if your looking for cheap afordable ones just to record drum beats
you can get a cheap used one at "Guitar Center"
Midi Keyboards i suggest getting An actual keyboard with midi interface
Yamaha's are good and have different sorts of instrumental sounds
cheap one will cost ya about 150
very durable, i still use mines...
