This is my first time visiting this forum,but since most of you guys are musicians,I'm sure you're familar with Manki and his music.Several weeks ago,he sent me a few CDs of his music and I just wanted to thank him and comment on the music.As many of you know,he's in a band called Da Silva,and he also records music on his own.This is what the Da Silva CD consists of...

Man,I'm in love with this CD! Da Silva's music has a pleasant Old School R&B vibe and the songs are funky as hell.The opening track "Paradise" is my favorite track.Manki's solo work is even more interesting.The CD he sent me is titled 'Electro Luv' and this is what it contains...

Very impressive! Manki's solo songs are electro-funk instrumentals,very moody and experimental.There's an Old School "Roy Ayers vibe" on some of these songs.Very hypnotic stuff! It's funny,when I listen to this CD,it kinda reminds me of Mirwais (the French techno/pop musician who produced Madonna's last two albums) and his 2001 solo CD 'Production'.But Manki's music is much more funkier.

This is true. I have an older DaSilva demo that is pretty damn good. Great party music. Now I want this new one, from what I've heard so far, I know it's gonna be HOT!!!

As far as his solo stuff goes... Electro Luv is his best work yet, but lets not forget Lust, which is on the NFO-Project 1 cd as well as his previous solo effort, Universe. And I just can't wait for what he's currently working on... that's sure to blow everything else out of the water!

Magnus Goethe is an amazing artist. One of my personal faves here in the community, his style, his finesse and his identity - alll manifested and reflected throughout his music.

i envy you for having found musicians with such similar tastes as yours, it's impossible for me to do the same in italy, considering nobody knows what funk is in here..

This DaSilva album is running pretty much nonstop in my player, it's hellafunky I got a cd already y'all And Manki's Electro Luv is so beautiful too, I said on my website that it paints pictures on the insides of my eyelids when I close my eyes and that's how I feel.
